Smartboms needs looking into!

Smartbombs:

  • Have all different ranges, damages between the different damagetypes > Makes no sence
  • Have different meta numbers for same ranges between the different damagetypes > Makes no sence
  • Is the only damagemodule that havent been changend since introduction > Red head Stephchild
  • Is the only weapon mudule that hasnt got a rig > Makes no sence
  • Is the ultimate sandbox weapon > Kill or suicide (or both :P)
  • Represent the harsh EVE Reality > Its nasty and mean = FUN!!!
  • Need adjusting > due the recent small ship buffs, past speed buff ect ect too many to count


Why:
Getting more dynamic gameplay involving smartboms

How:
Smartbombs themselves
-Fitting Adjustment
-Damage Adjustment
-Range Adjustment
-Fuel Adjustment
-Operational Adjustment
-Product Innovation (fuel, script, launcher)
-Introduction support modules

How they work:
-Operational Adjustment
-Way of applying damage (periodly, constant ect)
-Appliance External target ship factors (sig ect)


I havent post concrete idea's bust given the framework for idea's. I think its time that smartbombs are getting looked into. Pls post idea's below.

Shouting "I have a problem" is neither a feature or an idea.

You haven't even adequately explained what you think is "wrong" with them.

And no, a few bullet points typed out in preschool level English do not count.

Small & medium smart bombs could use some tweaking.

Large smart bombs are pretty spot on.

Large smart bombs are very effective at removing drones and killing small ships.
Medium smart bombs are sometimes effective at killing drones, but need some tweaking.
Small smart bombs are generally of poor effect because of their limited range (half the time drones orbit outside of the bombing radius).

I would recommend increasing the range of small & medium smart bombs by ~50%... Large smart bombs could use a slight enhancement to their range, but definitely should stay less than 7.5 km's unless faction.

Damage output is generally alright.

My take. Smartbombs coudl do MORE damage and larger range, but cycle way sloer. That would make psolsible to defend more effectively with them, but would create a chance of somethign to pass by, if you are lucky.. or very skilled :P

I think they should be just a bit under T2 scram range. So interceptors can tackle with scrams, but t1 frigs woudl need to be very very careful to try it against a battleship with free high slots ( fainnaly a buff for the tempest)

And this is hardly a "visionary idea's". I agree smartbombs need some smartening up. Cap booster charged seems to be most relevant, working as ASB's do. Also the guy above posted smalls are worthless and mediums are broken at best.

I don't think fuckinig with large smartbombs is all that neccesary. That being said 'normalizing' the stats of large faction SBombs would be nice (so all damage types have the same range, instead of EM just being blatantly better for no reason).

Small and mediums need, at a minimum, to have thier range pushed out substantialy. Frankly, I might just remove smalls all together, buff mediums, and slightly reduce the fittings. I'm not sure if smarties should go on frigs and dessies anyways, but having usefull mediums for cruisers and BCs and the like would be nice.
