Okay you might need to explain this to me as I am a little lost here.

First off I don't understand what you mean by we cannot remove the player from the character. Why can't we?

In game character - Erotica 1
Real Life Player - Some dude/chick behind a keyboard.

See, its easy.

Also I see no RL drama between Erotica 1 and the Goons or I have missed something?

Other than a few goons out of thousands who were at first were supporting Erotica 1 on the Eve O forums (not sure how this is related to RL) and now those few are not, so what RL drama are we talking about here?

Who said anything about you and the Goons? Were you banned for questionable comments? Are there rumors about your source of income? Want me to continue? These things don't have to be true mind you, but it s perception.

You have to remember, most sheep live by the Cult of Personality Ruleset. And as such, most people should play up to their public strengths, yours being Scammer. There is no shame in that game play and I am amazed daily that people will do the things they do in-game to get acceptance. But as I have already said, if there was a chair that represents that facet of the game, you would be a top contender for the "Scammers Chair". That's not a personal attack, it is your in-game strength, which most people are going to know you as. You cant deny this, you just posted about the Code in another forum right before I returned to this one.

okay.. now you have really lost me.

You do realise that me and Erotica 1 are not the same person?

I am going to go with English is not your first language as that is the only sane reason I can think off that is why your post makes no sense at all.

Erotica 1 is a member of a Goonswarm Federation membercorp - Wildly Inappropriate, specifically, which is a stunningly apt corp name for him. He posted about his antics on our forums, plainly expecting us to think they were way more cooler than they actually are. Instead, he was mocked, disparaged, and set read-only (this is a major punishment in a posting culture you see). That's where I pulled the bit about his RL picture collection from, and why I was getting up in his face about it here in public.

Missed who I was directing the comments to, I did not realize I was answering you Prince Kobol. But what I am saying still does hold water if I were having this conversation with Erotica 1.

gotcha, however I would still disagree with you.

A persons play style has no relevance on whether they would make a good CSM.

When looking at candidates I do not vote for those who may have a similar play style to my own, but rather I will look at those who are able to have a balanced well reasoned discussion and will argue their point of view but wont necessary stick to it blindly.

Also keeping to their opinion even if it is unpopular like Malc often does is also important (to me anyway)

Take Mynnna for example.

I am damn sure we have totally different play styles, thoughts and idea's about Eve however I still used 1 of my votes because Mynnna is excellent at communicating and is able to have a full and frank discussion without any drama.

As I have said before, I do not believe that the CSM has any relevance or power over the direction that CCP take, but what they can do is tell CCP whether what they are doing is good or bad and maybe from time to time be able to give them a tiny nudge in the right direction.

So communication to me is one of the most important aspects for being a CSM member.

Now whether Erotica 1 would meet my own requirements, I have no idea as he/she has dropped out the running. It certainly would of been interesting to see how far she/he got and what kind of responses he gave when the process began.

I agree with communication being key but I am also a firm believer that people talk a good game and tend to surprise people when they show their true colors. And playstyle is the very thing (in Eve) that actually gets you elected ... i.e. people wanting to have additional support to a playstyle of their choosing and emulating the people who have any semblance of power.

How is that relevant? If I were pursuing a scammer lifestyle, I would gravitate to people who share my playstyle. I would also support anyone who has the ear of the people who could buff/nerf my chosen playstyle. While you are I may come at it from a different approach, the Cult of Personality will not, they would blindly support without question, because it supports them.

it does not.

However Erotica1 use lie in his "double ISK" game. Why should anybody trust him after that?

Is the Cult of Personality some new alliance I should be aware of or are you just being dismissive toward people who make different choices by suggesting they somehow lack agency?

If I understand correctly I think what he is saying (and I apologise if this is wrong) is that people will simply vote for somebody just because they have the same play style and disregard everything else.

So for example say some who stood is a scammer they would vote for that person simply because they also scam regardless if it is quite clear that that person has no business being a CSM.

Or, because things didn't go as planned so after trying to shape shift the conversation and threatening to report people who went off topic we now see that your thread did truly deliver in derailing a campaign that should have never started.
