A Let's Play EVE Online Series - Sir Clik's Journey

Greetings space adventurers!!

I have been playing this game for some time now and am total fan (full disclosure). Oops

Recently I finished a mini tutorial video series (link) which totally inspired me to not stop and continue with a full-fledged let's play series.

And so here, I am starting a journey into the unknown.
While 3.5+ years in the game my overall experience and knowledge is rather limited.

My hope is that I will be able develop and explore new EVE horizons while providing entertainment and perhaps some help in the learning process for others.

Im saying this not having watched yet. But I worry eve wont make for good 'lets play' content. =\

Will give it a go though, since im on an amphetamine fueled late night.

I remember watching a few lets plays by other people.

While they get a few amount of viewers, the content is always hugely boring. It consists of doing missions, doing exploration sites (yawn), talking about boring things, and attempting PvP but in most cases it is just them killing a defenseless noob that is probably worse than they are and bragging about it.

Everybody has already seen the PVE, exploration, and noob missions 20x over.

If you want my opinion, try joining Red vs Blue and do a Lets play about that, commentate on what you think and try making new fits for PvP explaining why you think said fit is good. Then go try it out, etc..
It would be interesting to watch.

i agree with Diesel47,

Doing a lets play on certain aspects we all know about but don't get a chance to see normally would be great. I'm sure certain alliances would love the extra publicity aswell.

^ I would find it interesting to watch the day to day life as someone in those alliances, just to see what its like without having to go there myself.

Im not saying your video is bad, but if im honest, i wouldn't watch it regularly just due to content being what ive seen myself in-game 100 times before.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Diesel and Kara Corvinus. It is actually good to hear what people want to see. It it is funny that you perceive this as an exploration series - although I can see why that is the case (based on the footage in Ep. 1-3).

While I have not yet been able to get to it seriously as discussed in the episodes my mission is to document the road to becoming a PVP FC.

At first I got bogged down in the EVE Uni admission process and while waiting was producing episodes with that kind of boring content (the one you both mention). After some real life stuff I am now back and actually followed your advise and went for RvB. EVE Uni made me wait for more than a month....

Well, in any case hope to soon bring more action and finally start FCing and learning how that works ! Evil

I just watched the 4th lets play, have to say it was much more interesting than the garbage other "lets plays" contain.

Maybe you could cut out the boring parts of being in an RvB fleet if the FC won't get you any fights.


Oh, and if you are going for range with T2 guns, its better to use "scorch S" A T2 ammo, than the microwave you had in the video...

Give me a shout if you see me ingame, we might fight each other or something :P

Floks, I have been terribly late with updating the thread here is the actual link for the 4th episode for those of you who have not seen it yet.

Episode 5 is being rendered as I type this and has even more action! Should be up and running as soon as tomorrow :D

Here we go again. Episode 6 is out and ready to be watched.

I tried to capture some of the Crossing Zebras FFA event (Oct 5th) but was not able to do much in the way of damage.
Was an interesting experience though and must say I had a lot of fun.

On the "becoming a fleet commander" front, things are still looking down.. but I am gaining fleet experience and perhaps soon will be able to spread my wings :P

Dang that one came much sooner than I thought. Roll This time we pit ourselves in random frig PvP in the context of the RvB 100,000 Frigates FFA event. Apologies for the derpiness upfront but I can assure you I had a blast and learned a thing or two about Amarr frigs.

For next episode I would like to do a focus review on a couple of basic Amarr frig fits (Solo PvP).
Please do leave any suggestions, would be glad to put them in the vid!

We are back with Episode 8.

End of the day I was not able to put together the review I had in mind (see last post).
Too much happening in real life (that is actually good!). Instead of that I went beserk with the 1-1s in this episode and manged to squeeze in two sets of duels.
