I can confirm that New Order gankers are too scared for "real" pvp. None of them fight in lowsec, whs, or null because they are all noobs who are terribad. Well ok there are a few brave newbies in NO but that's it....except... those guys in Space Monkies, goonswarm, that guy from TEST...and even those guys flying in the Syndicate Competitive League... but except for ...oh wait there are those guys in the wardec corps.... but yeah, totally spot on with the rest of your analysis though OP.

goon pvp isn't real pvp

Nothing is ever "real pvp".

I think that PVP and PVE are both huge parts of the game that makes EVE a sandbox. PVE providing ships for PVPers and PVPers making PVErs making money selling ships.

What i really don't understand is the concept of some people that there is one correct way of playing EVE. Like that other thread where a clueless guy cries that carebears exist.

I hope CCP keeps allowing carebears, pirates and scammers to exist in this game because when all the sheep are gone wolves will have nothing to do. If the wolves are gone this game loses all its adrenaline.

I think that Hi-sec could even stop existing but if there is no absolutely protection for players that are more interested in PVE, in all forms, due to all reasons, don't be fooled, they won't stop their PVE ways to fight you. They will quit the game and never look back.

It's the way they play. I think that CCP has to address the boredom that nul seccers and low seccers have by forcing attrition between players who have the same mindset.

Force wars between coalitions or make them lose their stations if they don't fight. Promote PVP between PVPers. Because removing concord or making empire space unprotected won't lead PVErs into fighting.

They will simply quit. And it doesn't matter if you think this is pathethic, if it makes you cry at night, if it burns you inside with rage towards carebears, because that's the way it goes in the PVErs world.

I hope you guys understand this. A MMORPG must have both PVPers and PVErs. A sandbox, even a PVP oriented one, can't survive without PVErs.

Nope. Let me explain.

"We" want to kill them.

"They" don't want to be killed, by anyone, in any ship, ever.

They don't get to be the only ones who get what they want. That's not how the game works, in fact it works rather the opposite.

Being helpless is their punishment for not playing the game the way it's supposed to be played. It's what they get for pretending they are playing a single player game.

If they don't like where they are at the bottom of the food chain, too damn bad. They don't get to hold my gameplay hostage by threatening to withdraw their subs. That's disgustingly childish, and immoral behavior. That kind of petty, small minded, selfish crap is the reason I hate carebears in ANY GAME. Not just in EVE.

EvE is the ultimate stealth pay to win MMO. The longer I pay a sub the more skill points I get. The more skill points I get the better the gear and/or ship I can fly. I don't even have to undock to get "better".

If you are still losing even though you "pick the right targets", it is not your fault. You just need to discover small gang leet PvP. Sure you share the killmails, but you get killmails!

Skill points don't win you any fights mate

and besides, skills cap at level V, after that it doesn't matter if you're from 2006 or 2013.

If we must, think back to the days of high piracy. Pirates and privateers didn't attack military ships. They went after lightly armed traders for the precise reason we do....they can't fight back.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

They went after them to disrupt trade and ruin their economies. How well armed they were was irrelevant.

It was enough of a worry for Drake to fly a false flag to catch the heavily armed Spanish gold ships off guard.

How my brain went for the first five seconds after reading this:

Drakes are decent, but why would you use them for--oh.

Oh.

riiiiiight.

I can Bear with the best of them, though I tend to take more risks, and enjoy going through low sec, even if I'm leery of hi/low gate camps.

I was dissapointed a couple times with my Wspace's static Lows when I was literally moving crap through in Industrials for hours and nobody shot at me. At one point, I went AFK after undocking from a low sec station for like 30 seconds, and when I came back there was another ship undocked. I muttered a curse to myself and warped off, and all I got was a convo warning me that "Here there be monsters". That was hella dissapointing. Wish I'd lost my ship for being that damn stupid.

I recognize that Bears like me and others like me are the bottom of the food chain. And personally, I rather enjoy it. I get a thrill out of running gatecamps, or jumping past a gatecamp through the gate they're camping, snubbing my nose at the campers.

I am the prey, and the ebil piwates are the predators.

Bring it the hell on. I enjoy playing my side of our dance.

This.

In under 1 year you can have as much SP as needed to compete on even grounds with anyone else, sub-cap that is.

You can still fly super-expensive fittings that put you at an advantage, but generally even the trillionares do not do this. Every ship goes down eventually so no one really flies things too expensive these days.

Basically this game is pay-to-win if you're willing to pay $20 per handful of engagements (if even).

PvP = Player vs Player.

Where in that says that both players must be equally matched.

It says you are fighting as a player against another player, if that other player is flying a non-PvP ship, that's his fault.

Deliberately misunderstanding my point changes nothing.

What I was referring to was the "change XYZ or I'll quit!" sentiments. Which you find almost exclusively amongst bears of the "care" variety.

I underlined the bit where you got it wrong. Its not fighting; its doing everything possible to avoid a fight.

Ammo is exchanged. Pretty sure it's a fight, regardless if the ammo is going both directions.

Whatever semantics you may try to raise, PvP is any fight involving two players. Mutually agreed upon and consensual or not.
