When I sell stuff, and there are no buy orders, a random sell order is created

And usually for a HIGH price so I lose nice amounts of isk on fees.

WTF??????????

How I disable this annoying "feature". I want game to tell me "there are no buy orders: do you want to place a sell order?" instead of creating it right away

Stop using the advanced sell option. Especially with a duration.

It's doing exactly what you tell it to.

Not sure if I understand your problem, but it is usually pretty clear if there are no buy orders because... there are no buy orders showing. Did you check "show market details" to show the current sell and (lack of) buy orders?
In your case, since there are no buyers, apparently the (not really random) regional average is selected for your newly created sell order.
