Some Trivia Questions

Evening

Haven't quite played since 2008, but it's Winter and I thought a little resub would be in order! I've done a bit of reading and a few questions remain, hopefully you lads can help me out?

1. Saw some new Pirate faction rookie ships are on the market, Hematos for example. Are these acquired through the Pirate factions LP store, or we're they a one time give away. Any new faction pirate ships on the horizon? Any new pirate epic arcs other than Angel and Guristas and are all pirate agents still in 00.

2. Hopped into my Nighthawk, notice I'm allowed one less launcher on it now, I can't even remember the previous stats, was it boosted elsewhere? Or has it just been 'nerfed' a touch?

3. Have skill requirements been reduced across the board for things, for example a freighter only requires racial industry at 3, or was that always the case?

4. What's this new 'like' ballacks on the forums and where has all the image sigs gone?

5. Piracy was always great banter back in he olde ages, is it still popular in low sec or is every one RvB, faction warfareing and 00ing. With the great titans such as The Pirate Alliance, Veto etc no more, who leads the field in Piracy?

6. Thinking I'm going to try out exploration as the new new scanning stuff doesn't require a physics degree and looks mega mega in comparison to probing on release. I had an idea, I'd get an Orca an fill it full with a covops and a Warship. Fly to a system, dock up and use my covops to find something, swap out to my warship, do my thing and then pack up and move on.

Do people do that, sounds like an interesting gameplay element to me. Thinking is using a pilgrim to handle whatever exploration throws at me, or possibly a legion as I imagine drones increase the odds of being scanned down.

6.1. Might use a providence instead of an orca, but I don't imagine you could place rigged ships into a freighter yet?

Any one can provide any insight' I'd appreciate it.

1) One time giveaway, I don't remember the occasion...
Sisters of EVE faction ships.
No new pirate arcs, pirate agents still where they used to be.

2) It has been rebalanced along with a bunch of other ships, see Odyssey 1.0 patch notes towards the bottom (I don't think I can link directly to them...)

3) Ship skill change blog

4) Like button is exactly what it seems like. Image sigs are gone probably forever.

5) Piracy is still popular. I have no idea who the big guys are however, I do sov warfare.

6) It would probably be faster to take your covops on a round trip of several systems and bookmark the sites as you find them. Then switch to your combat ship and visit the interesting ones. An orca is too slow to be moving from system to system to system.

6.1) Put the rigged ship into a courier contract by an alt. You can then haul the courier contract package in any ship.

Pirate agents are still in 0.0, no news of new pirate arcs.

Pirate rookie ships were given out to people who had a fanfest ticket

Skill changes have been changed a bit as a result of various rebalances; overall they have not gotten shorter.

Shiny new forums.

Wow ,you must've been gone for a long time. Everyone knows that glorious Point Blank Alliance are the undisputed leaders in piracy.

With regards to the orca:
You could, but orcas are slow as balls and that methodology pretty much restricts you to hisec.

1. Pirate newbie ships are a gift ship for those attending FanFest or buying the HD stream for it. The only new ships on the horizon are the Sisters of EVE ships that are coming to Tranquility next week. And all pirate missions are still in NPC null-sec.

2. CCP did what they are calling a mass rebalancing on the ships. If you look up the past few patches / expansions and most ships in EVE, they all have changed. A lot of ships had stats changed and/or fitting slots changed. (I still have a Drake that can't undock now because it has 7 launchers instead of 6)

3. Part of the ship rebalancing was tiericide. This means tiers are gone, in previous times, you had tier ships (where each skill level opened a new ship). This is now gone, with frigate skill 1, you can fly all the frigates of that race, with battlecruiser 1, you can fly all battlecruisers.

About battlecruisers and destroyers, they added racial versions for those skills. So instead of a global Destroyer and Battlecruiser skill. You now have: Amarr Destroyer/Battlecruiser etc etc.

4. You get a like, just because you don't like the like button P. Picture sigs have been gone ever since CCP made these forums.

5. Piracy still exist, big time. Who controls it...I have no clue.

6. I would just map down a list of signatures you find and find interesting in a couple of systems and then fetch your combat ship. Mainly because the Orca is just too slow for the 1 system at a time approach. Also keep in mind that the Orca has limited space and I think a marauder doesn't fit in the ship maintenance bay.

And CCP changed the exploration sites in EVE, some sites in high-sec don't have rats anymore so you won't need a combat ship for them.

6.1 Correct. You can't manually put an assembled ship in a freighter. You have to courier contract it to the freighter pilot from a seperate character.

With regards the Nighthawk:
The dps has increased slightly even though it has now one less launcher.
I guess it got a bonus to RoF or something - not sure.
