Ok so as a person that likes to fit up ships for his fleets i really am thankful for the ability to save ship fittings and click a single "fit" button instead of dragging and dropping the mods for each ship. However why dont we take it just one more step further. Lets add the option to fit X amount of ships with the same fitting. for the general eve player this may not be useful, but for people like my self that fit up mass fleet doctrine ships for their fleets, its could be a major life savor.

the general player may not realize this but those pre-fit ships that your alliance sells to you, really do take a ling time to fit up. it would save everyone a huge headache and time if the option to mass fit them all at once was there cause quite frankly fitting up 400 ships takes way to long.

if you have any thoughts or question please say or ask them in a constructive manner. if you have support please say so, lets try and make this a reality.

I wish my alliance would sell me pre-fitted ships. Then again, I've never asked.

Anyway, +1 for something that seems reasonable and closely mimics a situation I found myself in while testing various ship fittings on SiSi.

-1 because you didn't read the forum rules. This has been suggested many times before. Quit flooding the forums with repost of the same idea....

Also add extra tweaks like "I'll try to fit it from bottom up: rigs -> low slots -> mid slots -> high slots and will search for modules in your containers".

that is a completely different idea. something that would take massive coding to change. this is a very simple coding change. very simple. post it in the forum post thats already made about it.

Removed one post that was trolling and in bad taste.

Really? Do we really need to call people names?

No matter how many ways this is suggested it should be suggested again. Just so it doesn't get drowned by horrible ideas.

i personally looked on the list they have up and i couldn't find this suggested anywhere. but i agree. the sheer fact that ccp has not done this already is just amazing.

Posting in a thread with 2 x ISD doing their thing...priceless.

On a more serious note I can see this being of great benefit to a lot of people. I recently wanted to fit 4 ships exactly the same, now it's not Fleet size of 400, but it was still a PITA assembling each one, boarding, hitting the fit button etc.

+1 OP. Nice call and decently explained.

It's probably the standard issue development mess:

- Fitting system is old (and it isn't of the best quality)
- "Fit" system for saved fittings is a newer iteration built on old code and having issues (eg. barely working).

So from a seemingly simple implementation (A loop of 'fit saved' operations) escalates into solving n problems within the fitting system and fitting saving system. Which in turn makes this into a big problem that can't be just coded during a coffee break and chucked in with the expansion last-minute.

That said they should do it (and rework fitting in the meantime. SOME work in that department is getting done - T3 subsystem work comes to mind.)

eh it may not be the easiest thing, but ccp lately has seemed to be into doing things right around this alley to make eve better. this is something that would be way more useful than some of the changes they have been making. not to minimize the changes they have/are doing though :P

i can tell you right now that doing it on a large scale like i have been doing is probably one of the biggest pain in the asses. seeing as how my alliance isnt the biggest yet and i dont have people in the logistics side of our alliance yet that i can just pass this task along to, it takes time away from me running fleets, which means less good fights and less content.

I feel your pain Khan. I've been in this boat more times than I can count in the past and it's a chore. The implemeation of "Quick fit" is great and all and I believe your idea to be the next logical step and can only be of benefit.

+1

Supported. Hope it happens.

If the fitting window could somehow also tell you that you are unable to fit this particular ship in the station you're in that would be a godsend. (Like if you do not have all the required modules or rigs)
