I think that Revenent-haan's involvement began when the blue-list of his organization changed, and not due to an emotional investment. I'm sure that an arrangement will be found that is equitable for all parties.

I would have hoped it would have begun with the decisions made by his diplomatic staff that led to the standings change, Scherezad.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Interesting, this is the cause for a decay of diplomatic standings. Here I was under the impression that Pyre was immune to criticism.

They are indeed, after all wounded feelings apparently provoked the attack from your diplomat and even brought you down off your mountain, Revenent. A day late to do any good and with nothing of substance to say, but at least you're here.

Clearly this was an idea whose time had simply come.

Oh come on, that was it? Pyre had their panties in a bunch because of an inferiority complex towards I-RED? Yes, you guys are the littler brethren, but that doesn't mean you have to throw your toys out of the pram because big sis Oniseki scolds you for childish behavior.

So small we have managed to achieve almost three times their kill rate so far this month with five percent of their member-count. I'm really feeling inferior killing all these actual enemies of the State and not docked in a station in Syndicate somewhere engaging in mutual fellatio sessions of self-aggrandizement.

May I gently suggest to all parties that there is no further profit to be had in this conversation, and that any future investment will be consumed by the local debt. Better to salvage what is salvageable and avoid putting more capital into sunk costs. Let new ventures find profit for your kin and the State.

Unfortunately, Scherezad, this is what happens when your currency is fiat and you live on credit, to continue the metaphor. Doing as you rightly suggest reveals the manner by which they are valued to be inherently worthless. Its only real worth now is the faith of the market, there is nothing of real scarcity and value to back it.

I was not aware we were competing to see who could cause the most destruction of capsuleer vessels, nor do I see its relevancy. As for Oniseki's diplomatic tongue it is far more silver then that copper edge of yours Gesakaarin-haani.

I was just saying to one of my kirjuun that the only thing that could elevate this would be if the Diplomats would stop flinging crud at each other so that the respective Leadership could really work their throwing arms with a clear line of sight.

In the last minute, I've achieved an important bit of self-insight regarding my personal limits. I can't quite state the obvious jokes involving contests of our respective diplomats' tongue texture outright.

You don't think that might not just be a teensy exageration? Nobody's talking about setting people red or declarations of war - the only thing that's been declared is the end of an experiment that clearly didn't bear fruit.

I don't know about that. She (your diplomat) seems to have a way of pissing off everyone your organization talks to, eventually. I mean, once, sure. Twice...hmm, alright. Several times? There's a common denominator here, and it isn't everyone else.

Surely, Tuulinen-haan, we're not anywhere near the point of bloodshed. Still, the idea matters; that blood speaks more than banners, or perhaps more that we all seek to do our duty, even if we disagree what is the greatest path to follow in pursuit of that duty.

Whether accepting the call to arms despite the great risk was honorable pursuit of duty or a foolish waste of resources, whether fighting in Black Rise and Placid is noblest service to the State or an endless sacrifice of men and materiel, we seek to do our duty.

Our cause may differ, but ultimately it differs only in uniform and corporation. We remain dutiful.

Mmh.. I ask you to take no offence. But you are a person who 'pisses' me off Vikarion, yet I would still work with you because my dealings with you are not of a personal nature. Though I suppose Ishukone-Raata is rather hardened toward 'aggressive' statements from our allies, something I assume Pyre will gain with time.

I'm fairly sure I've gone on record saying that I value I-Red's contribution to the State. The change to standings didn't occur because certain people went to the CTA, it ocurred because I hold Diplomats to a different standard than other pilots and officers when it comes to public attacks on organisations.

I don't really care. I have no ambitions or intentions of working with your "corporation" in the future, not least because your organization has a tendency to attack allies in public and then weep piteously about how terribly they treat you.
