The Phenix is a structure crunsher. It's very good at its job. There is no need to give it the Raven's job.

It's not good at it's job. It's a best average as a structure shooter, and ******* awful at being a combat dread. In other words, there is no reason(or excuse) to ever be caught flying one.

Not saying RCMLs or RTLs are a good idea. They're not. But there is a GLARING need to fix the Phoenix. But the way to do this is fixing citadel torps and citadel cruises.


EDIT: Just to clarify, the reasons the pheonix is average to bad as a structure shooter is because:

A. It cannot defend itself if it gets dropped on by subcapitals. Just flattout cannot. It's BARELY able to assist in a defense against enemy caps and will get slaughtered by an equivalent force or Moros/Nags.

B. The fact that it's theoretical DPS against towers Might be slightly higher, means almost nothing, because any alliance that is going to drop dreads on a tower, will drop enough that it dies in one siege cycle (which is the only DPS metric that matters).

Festival launchers already exist and make the Phoenix worth having. Maybe fireworks need a rework? We could make various sizes of fireworks and then we could talk about making a Rapid Large Firework Launcher for capitals.
