Any kind of fast kitey nanoed cruiser.

Curse, maybe huginn fir a recon.

Fleet stabber, tornado, cynabal, all make good dps ships for this kind of gang.

Navy caracal, gila, vagabond, cerberus are all good picks also.

Lachesis might be a good pick for an alternate recon, due to the long range scrams and points, those are going to make it hard for people to disengage from you.

If you dont bring a lach, make sure you have at leastone pilot (probably a cyna) with a long range faction point so you can dictate range without them simply warping off.

Scrams and webs are death.

Stay aligned, and dictate range.

I've had fun with an AF gang that consists of:

1) Vengeance (Ancillary Armor Rep, Small Armor Rep, 3x Centii C-Type Remote Armor Repair, 2x Small Cap Booster, AB, 2 Rockets)
2) Enyo (Armor Buffer w/ Ions and Scram+Web)
3) Ishkur (Armor Buffer w/ Electrons, Cap Booster, Web, and 1x Centii C-Type Remote Armor Repair)

The Vengeance is almost never primaried until it is too late for the enemy gang and they can no longer break the Vengeance's self-rep of almost 800 DPS tank w/ a Standard Exile and Legion Links. The Vengeance pilot has to be good at logi, though.

1 T3 link ship. 1 DPS ship of your choice, and a falcon just in case you think you're going to die.

Ayyy LMAO.

If you don't want to spend over 500 mil like everyone is suggesting try this:

Tanked interceptor with targeting speed.
Dragoon or algos with full drone dps lows - remote reps high
armor repair frig

Assign drones to ceptor and surprise repair the logo when they target it

Most RR gangs tend to do well in small numbers, but keep some concepts in mind:

1. Make sure everyone's top speed is the same. Try to get their agility similar as well. The last thing you want is to say "okay, anchor is pulsing MWD" and one guy falls behind because he fitted an AB and goes half the speed.

2. Make sure people know what a watchlist is and how to use one.

3. Drone setups tend to be easier to start and are less forgiving. RR Tristans anchored onto an Enyo, for instance, I've found to be very useful with the Enyo also rocking an AAR and Tristans just locking themselves/Enyo up and assisting drones.

4. When running into complexes, actually be organized. Have everyone align down the acc gate then have the tank ship go in first, count to three, then have the other two go in. Most FCs / small gangs will primary the first thing that comes through...even if it's a Vengeance or Maller.

If you follow these secrets, you too may one day be as successful in small gang pvp as the elite in Black Rise.

Assisting drones does not work well in lowsec.

Perhaps it's difrent if you are in FW and only shoot WTs. But I wouldnt recommend building a gang based on it.

Back when I just started getting cruiser skills, I flew 2x Arbitrators with the only other person I knew at the time. It was super-fun compared to the Maller I had flown until then, since there were more buttons to consider than just lasers and propulsion.

Then we flew some 2x combat Augorors for ***** and giggles. It was hilarious and surprisingly effective, since people would see two noob < 4 month old characters in Augorors derping around alone, and engage with stuff that mathematically cannot kill them.

Now that I've been EFT warrioring a bit, my #1 suggestion for hilarious 3-man-gangs is 3x Sacrilege with Remote Reppers in the utility high and a Large Capacitor Battery II to be safe from neuts. That has to be awesome fun, playing kind of like Tinker-tank Tengus.

If you're posting from your main you'll probably only have access to Minmatar T1 cruisers at the most, in which case I'll suggest Talwars or, if you're bad at fleet coordination, Breachers. Once you're feeling well-coordinated, you could perhaps splice it up with a Hyena once Rubicon hits.

Of course, despite popular recommendation, you could run with a logi, and if you've never flown a small-gang logi, I'll highly recommend it. Not because it's the most effective, but simply because it's fun! Stick as much self-rep on a T1 logi frig that you can, and rejoice as you tank anyone who think to kite your gang in a Condor or Kestrel. Use its frigate mobility to avoid insta-blaps.

It's cheap, different, unexpected, and far from the worst use of a low-skillpoint player!

If Chribba told you not to trust him, would you?

For small kiting setups with cruisers and up you usually want two heavier hitting, far projecting ships such as shield sentry ishtars or shield taloses alongside a ship know as "anti-support" that is good at dunking fast tackle at range such as a RLML caracal or nomen. A very common example of this you see is Ishtar/Ishtar/Cerb. You also have the option of fast tackle or support instead of your anti-support/one dps ship. Examples are dramiel/zealot/mach or talos/talos/rapier or oracle/caracal/celestis.

Brawling gangs have a bit more options. Usually you want ships that have enough midslots to be able to fit scram/web as otherwise your enemies can just shoot the one guy doing all the webbing and leave. At a gang this small you are all able to fit active tanks and still be effective so a trio of XLASB cyclones works. If you plan on all being buffer you should consider having a tanky fast tackler such as armor SFI/ScyFi. Spider tanking also becomes an option. RR sacs/ishtars on the more expensive side and if you're cheap rr vexors are fun too.

On a frig level things are a bit simpler. You can easily just do 3 dps ships like 3 blaster MWD merlins which works out totally fine. Senteniel/hyena/keres with two long ranged frigs like slicers

Obviously a sabre and two falcons.

Else what Chessur said. Unless you're up to crash gatecamp after gatecamp and got T3 links, drugs and a good move to seperate your foes (this comes more down to them being bad then to yourself doing anything special) , flying a fast nanoconcept is the only thing that makes sense.

Outrunning + outranging enemies is especially for small gangs such a strong strategy that it'd be a waste to not use it.
