Oh I think they knew exactly what they were doing.

This is how you deal with Incursion inflation. When you farm incursions 24/7 it inflates the economy. fastest way to get the inflation down is to destroy ships. Mission accomplished.

Exactly,

This was a excellently executed operation by CCP to get billions of isk out of circulation prior to the expansion. Problem is they have F'd over half of H.S to do it and those i high sec know it! I hate to think how many subs they will lose.

What I dont get is if this information is logical...then logically you should have foreseen it happening, or did you sleep for 45 minutes? Normally one would ponder, ok...im traveling at slow speeds, they have intel and can travel normal speed so it will be a trap. Yet you continue onward anyway? Come on now.

I hate CFC...nearly all null alliances but i dont think this was a setup. If it had been you should have been the wiser to avoid it. They are professional pvpers. They live in hostile space and run intel networks, fight off invading forces, and respond quickly to threats and targets of opportunity. They are used to it and you are not. So instead you cry about it? Please let me get my tear jug to fuel my jump drives.

Look at it this way.

They take H.S Corps into the corner of the power base of major alliances. Get us all killed intentionally to start a large battle between the power blocks as they are all waiting to try and kill us. Perfect way to lower PLEX costs and get isk out of circulation.

You are helping the economy. By donating your ship. For the cause....

Yup it would appear so lol

Yup, and whats funniest is that the Empires didnt leave their own space with one ship to help with "their offensive lol"

The event was "The Empires Needs Your Help!" - Well where the heck was the empire? CCP slapped the high sec community in the face.

CCP ran a story based event and on purpose lead the group to null-sec where they KNEW everyone would die. You gave us no warning!

99% of us didn't even have time to activate a single module or defend ourselves whatsoever. This is the worst "event" I have ever attended in a MMO in my entire life. CCP trolled their own player-base. Shameful.

CCP knew exactly what they were doing here. Lambs to the slaughter. I knew I would lose my ship today. I was ready for a fight. I wasn't ready to be lead to the slaughter without even a fight and LEAD into the lions den by CCP.

We were expecting a fight, not suicide, nothing but a waste of time, they were already waiting for us and the reroute was **** everyone was waiting and some even hours in Ihal by the time we got to the event it was already finished, 18:29 > rerouted to Ihal 19:51 > arrived in Ihal, then go through another 6 systems to RMOC-W , ship spinning in Sendaya, go through doril everyone dead, get through doril, easy way to RMOC-W event over.

Half the people that arrived the event was over and the other half got massacred, 10% tidi with 150 in local, 36% tidi with 1025 in local, yea sure, funniest thing ever people saying "Ignore doril go through the other route" go check your map and see the other route.

The only notification to go to ihal beforehand was on twitter the rest got notified too late, tidi on systems with 178 people in local 250 in local and less tidi with 1000+ on a single gate emm what ? no losses for me as I went with a garbage alt and a 450k frigate, glad I did.

Glad you had your fun.

Lets be frank. The opinion of everyone i flew with is CCP tipped off them on the event location and this was a set up. They were already sat on the gate!

I am not saying that RAZOR are not good at what they do and we were all expecting PVP. Not a dev telling us their is some ships on the other side and to jump. Only to find 500 ships all taking every ship out as the come out of jump.

This has simply meant that half the game player base has missed out on the event. Not only this but they have alienated a **** ton of people!

Sorry, as much as I hate the cartels, anyone who follows the forum feed knew this was going to be a disaster for the high sec fleets. CCP in the "forces of evil post" made it abundantly clear to the null sec groups hours before to assemble fleets in Utopia (1 jump from Doril) and FD-MLJ, which is a pure hell area. The cartels knew as much as the high sec players did.

I was setting up a ship , but could not get int Sarum Prime (thanks CCP for capping it at 1300). As soon as CCP tweeted for the Sarum group to head to Ihal, I just stood down. Ihal is the high sec jumpoff to Utopia.

The cartels had 2 hours to move 1 jump and set up shop.
I know of at least one incursion based shield fleet that got to the Doril gate and turned around when scouts reported 8 bubbles on the null sec side.

Anyone jumping in was going to die. Period.
Now, I firmly believe that CCP set this up for the cartels' benefit, and it played out precisely that way.
But the high sec fleets did not have to meekly stand on the conveyor belts heading into the rotating knives.
Some got off the belt, and survived.

Dying when you have a chance , albeit small, is one thing, and can be fun.
Throwing away ISK and time on a dead certainty is quite another.

Tidi was that bad I changed course for home 8 jumps short off the massacre, 7 minutes per jump.

CCP it was just a waste of time you should have put extra hardware into the route, just not good business practise.

Hehehe, I just watched and read all this to susport my suspicion and maybe vent a bit of disapointment.

My major point being the introduction of the event being misleading and poorly executed in what expectations people got. - I myself did count on PvP in the end and to get killed and prepared for that - still I hoped to at least get close.

>>> Now on the other hand, reading a few more comments adn remembering what Fozzie said in the stream regarding lore I just put things together.

Does anyone remeber the presentation of Rubicon ? More control to the players, away from the Empire ... independence ... a step that cant be taken back ...

... here is why, concord and the empire just ****** the high sec capsuleers over ... welcome to the eve lore 8)

conspiracy, myabe, same data, same effect, different concluision !

When my source told me that the event players would be lead into our hands i did not want to believe him at first but after our spy network confirmed what was going on we prepared 500 goats and set them up at sniping spots and on the gate to welcome our highsec-dwelling friends.
I giggled manically when wave after wave after wave came at us in this narrow passage.

10/10 woud fight again.

Ok just took part of the event. This simply put was a set up by CCP to hand kills to lowsec!

How did RAZOR get set up that quickly of it wasn't for time dilation allowing then nearly an hour get get their ahead of the dilated systems! Our fleet jumped in to what was simply put... a set up. Was this CCP's present to RAZOR ? perhaps all the goons complaining about "carebears" was too much and the Dev's gave in?

I love PVP, i love the game. But this set up is utterly unacceptable!

Its this sort of **** that makes people stop playing Eve. CCP you should be ashamed of yourself.

You didnt do your homework we been stationed in Doril for the War. You think we wouldnt have a go at a turkey shoot on our doorstep?
