Does Anything Ever Happen When I Can Attend?

So all the newbie training sessions were at 18:00. Now this new event is at 18:50. Do I need to find another game in my timezone or do things ever actually happen in my timezone? Officially of course. Unofficial events happen all the time.

CCP won't run live events during UStz. I've read on the forums before (I think during the serpentis prime battle, or most recent dev incursion) that they have no intentions of doing UStz events.

This is not true. Smile

The Content Team for EVE Online is based in Reykjavik, Iceland, at our headquarters, as such those involved with live events operate on UTC.

While we're looking at ways to expand to cover all timezones, we need to be able to factor in that the vast majority of these events are hosted during people's free time, in hours after work, and we need volunteers from within the company to come fly with us.

As such, we're not in a position right now where we can run live events off UTC timezone hours. We are however looking at ways in which we can do so in future.

Make your own event, OP. I hear all it takes is a Catalyst and some blasters. Maybe you can't burn Jita but you can singe it a little.

Gee, I dunno...maybe actually have some of your Atlanta employees run one during their actual work hours, given this one takes place at 1:30 p.m., Eastern TZ. And please don't tell me that none of your Atlanta employees play Eve, and if they do play Eve, they are incapable of running one of these events.

So they have to stay late to do the work, instead of having them run an event on their work hours which might work better with other timezones. Actually, from Iceland, nothing really works well, does it? :D Buh dum ching!

Simple. i'm a USTZ player. Give me Polaris and 20 or so Jove Battleship BPCs. Tell people about it before hand and let me fly around New Eden while playing Benny Hill chase music. Event problem solved.

Of course if you do that, I'll just fly to VFK and hand the stuff to Goons in can named "From Harry and Dinsdale with love", just on pure principles.....

options could be hosting an after work live event from the atlanta office. give them pizza and beer...

It's the nature of the entertainment business.

When are basketball games?

When are concerts?

When are plays?

7 pm with a matinee on Saturday, because that's when people have time to do it.

I don't see how running events in a game for profit is any different and those in the business shouldn't expect it to be.

Take your kids' birthdays off work. Makes everything a lot easier. Also, wouldn't you plan both events some time in advance so they don't coincide? And why would it be 'late' at work if that's when they're supposed to work?
