Wouldn't it be nice to be able to agro the room, and know you can tank it all. Twisted

Well no. It means Cap was a priority and for good reason.

But hey, thats just me.

@Poppy True dat. It may be OP to be able to tank the whole room, but it will be the closest a mission runner gets to a PvP gank...;-)

Actually, I've avoided the last room of Worlds collide ever since I learned the hard way you could warp in the wrong spot and aggro all groups at once. No PvP ship can survive that gank...until now that is....bwhahahah.

A Tankadon with dual reppers does a nice job.

How come the maelstrom does not get any love any more?

If it were up to me the maelstrom should be up my number one l4 runner. It has great def, great drone capacity, and can output dps specific to rats

MAel ftw

Paladin all the way! I'm pretty sure a large rep fits on that earlier fit, but why bother when you can "set it and forget it" with a med rep. 1354 conflag dps! or with tachys 1146 muti dps! imo if you need to switch to scorch for any significant period of time you should have used tachyons.

I think the only way the kronos can win this one is if you are fighting a ton of guristas and/or serpentis rats due to damage type. super close range it can get some insane dps but further out and it just gets meh.

kronos is better fighting angels plus it can use 2x sentry its really helps especially when you are stuck in bastion mode

I think a lot of people are forgetting that you are stationary in Bastion, and thus taking significantly more damage. I personally have my reservations on the medium repper being able to tank some missions, particularly if you are going to be stationary in Conflag range. It also means that you are forced to be in Bastion mode practically all the time since you will evaporate without the Bastion bonuses.

That aside, I also heartily endorse Paladin if you are willing to mission in Amarr space. Paladin has the further advantage of being armor-tanked vs EM/Therm damage, meaning it's really really easy to get a strong tank even without Bastion. Kronos on the other hand is armor tanked vs kinetic/therm, which is slightly worse. Scorch is just ridiculously good as well.

medium rep + 100% = a large rep. plus a 30% resist bonus on top of that. besides I nearly always just sit still in my paladin anyways. for the missions where I move I'm usually not taking much damage anyways.

and anyways I'm pretty sure it will be easy to fit a large rep on there if you want, and that repairs ~25% armor a go last I looked. just going to have to manually cycle it every now and then.

and I disagree that "Scorch is just ridiculously good" tachs will out damage and have slightly range with gamma, or 12 dps less with xray but more range. what makes scorch good is the ability to melt face with conflag and use scorch for a few targets. if you are mostly using scorch you probably should have used tachyons.

and yea kronos is better vs angels, but nearly anything is better vs angels than a paladin.

I doubt a medium repper and Bastion will be able to tank, say, AE bonus room while stationary at warp in point. Like you said, no reason not to put a large repper on it since you can easily fit one.

Personally I prefer pulses with scorch because tachyons are massive overkill on frigates and cruisers, unless you're going to ungroup all guns. If you go tachyons then you have no way of dealing with targets closer than 20 km (especially with removal of web bonus) unless you MJD away and then you'll be shooting from 100km, meaning much lower damage.

That said, I run missions dual-boxing with a Golem which I set to shoot any BSs while the Paladin takes care of frigates/cruisers first, which is why I prefer pulses despite the lower DPS.

Confirming that cap stable PVE ships are terribad. No I wont justify this comment.

Kronos with blasters & null loaded (with the right fit and in Gallente space) is pretty badass (Falloff bonus ftw).

Just have a MJD Sentry Domi set up for those angel missions....easy.

Whatever you choose, remember this:
Average mission engagement range is either point blank, 35-45 km or 65-80 km
Dead NPC's don't shoot back.
There's no ship that can do the 700+ dps, 500+ tank and up to 80km range thing while being cap stable. The only thing that lets you come close is around 20 million SP invested.

Paladin has always been my favourite, don't be put off by only having 2 damage types, it simply tears everything down.

Do note that pulses with IN Gamma do pretty much tachyon IN multifreq dps to 50km; tachyons only gain advantage over that range while conflag gains short range power to 30km-ish.

IN gamma should be the mainstay crystal with MJD IMHO, not scorch.
