Skillpoint Epic Arc for Expansion Releases!!!

with the upcoming release of EVE online: Rubicon expansion, I wondered to myself how CCP could make future expansions even more EPIC.

For this I suggest an EPIC ARC released every expansion;, tied to the overall theme of the expansion(s) that rewards 100k sp * the number of expansions. Example; Rubicon is the 20th expansion so 2m un allocated skill points for those whom complete the Epic Arc.

Pros:
Encourages active play in EVE. Lol
Gives new bros a way to gain Skillpoints while immersing into Gameplay. Pirate
Excitement over new expansions will take on a rabid like boost to EVE. Twisted

Cons:
Can't think of any right of the bat.
Limited to once per expansion, available to everyone.

Looks like this is the first of this set of threads again.
Grind for SP = Bad for game.
PLEX for SP = Bad for game.
Re-Distrubite SP = Bad for game.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

It's not like any of those at all. Once per expansion. No way it would be over powered at all.

Edit: Future Expansions imho...

It sounds an awful lot like grind for SP to me. I wonder which players would be able to blitz the arch more easily and quickly using shiny ships backed with lots SP, new players or old players...

It's up to CCP to balance it well. Think outside the box; Epic Arcs shouldn't be go here - kill this in pimped tengu; move this to from a to x in blockade runner. The possibilities are limitless.

Narrow minded thinking is the true death of EVE.

Eve is dying and free SP in the same thread? I'll go get some popcorn.

Posted in another of these PLEX for SP crap-posting threads so just going to quote it here:

It's not about the amount of SP that you have. It's what you have it in, what you do with it, how you fly, what you fly, how you fit, who you fly with or against, who or what actions you have. And if you don't understand that then you should just quit as SP doesn't rule in EVE Online.

EDIT: Oh and WoW is that way if you want to grind for SP. Please don't make a fuss, just go quietly and we won't mention this again -----> (Sorry, just had to!)

Oh, look. Mandatory PvE.

Why is that a good idea again?

And who is more likely to be able to fly a large variety of highly specialized ships such as Marauders, T3's, Covert/Black Ops, Interceptors, and blockade runners to do all these "outside the box" things really well on a single toon? I don't think its going to be the newer players.

This is grind for SP 3-4 times per year and as such it is a terrible idea.

I'm afraid this isn't even close to being a good idea.

no. get out.

counter-proposal -> go biomass yourself.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Well, if part of the epic arc was perhaps in lowsec...

But really the amount of SP that would be rewarded from an epic arc that would give SP would have to be stupid low to prevent it from being OP.

Although it is nice to receive unallocated skill points, it plays into that you can put them into the flavor of the month and for instance, jump into a Marauder with relevant skills to 5, the same day Rubicon drops, while not spending a single day training for those skills before because they weren't overly attractive before.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

Make them one time as with the current Cosmos missions and then make cosmos epic arcs so they become worthwhile.

Then you'd be dealing with stabbed bombers, cloaky tengus and a wide variety of nigh-unprobable setups?
