Greetings

after transitioning into another setup i'd like to share my former one including the required math and some general considerations regarding setup.

What is produced?

This example deals with producing T4 Sterile Conduits out of the required T2/T1 materials (Water, Viral Agents, Livestock, Miniature Electronics and Construction Blocks) in a 72h rotation.

What is required?

This can be done as soon as you reach Command Center Upgrades 4 but requires a small Planet (~5-6k km radius).

The upper half (8x T3) produces SmartFabs, the lower one (again 8x T3) Vaccines. There are a total of 4 buildings storing/delivering the ressources (2x LP, 2x Storage), each of them delivers one T2 and all of them Water.

For the 72h rotation

Each cycle procues 4 Sterile Conduits, therefore takes 24 Smartfabs, 24 Vaccines and 160 Water. To produce 24 Smartfabs/Vacc (10:3 ratio), 80 Viral Agents, Livestock, Miniature Electronics and Construction Blocks are needed. For a 72h rotation that gives:

5760 of each T2 (8640m3 each)
11520 of each T1 (Water - 4377,6m3)

(each T2 takes 1.5m3 space, T1s 0.38m3)

After splitting up the Water in 4 equal parts 9734,4 x 4 are needed for a full rotation. Further it needs to be considered if the product actually requires more space than the initial parts.

T2+T1 -> T4 (one storage delivers one T3 and 1/4 Water and recieves 1 Sterile Conduit)
80 * 1.5 + 40 * 0.38 > 100

What does that mean for the routing?

Going by the picture (http://i.imgur.com/Ul1rQHT.png)

As mentioned each Storage takes 1 T2 side and 1/4 of the Water (SF1-LP takes Miniature Electronics (and Water)) and delivers it to all those who need MEs, later it takes 1/2 of the Smartfabs (the production of all T3-Facs in SF1) and delivers them to 2 of the 4 T4-Facs and takes 1 Sterile Conduit in return.

How does restocking work?

Because every LP/Storage only delivers one T2 you have to pay attention to deliver the stuff in the right order. First the T2s/Water for a Storage, expedited transfer them to a storage from the lp and deliver the lp stuff afterwards.

How much do i get for that?

Disclaimer: As you may notice, buy orders mixed with sell orders are used for the calculation of the profits, therefore you could argue that not all of the money is actual PI profit, due to some trading - on the other hand this reflects actual practice better.

Disclaimer: The difference to the spreadsheet is a result of rounding the Brokers-Fee/Transaction-Tax etc.

I build a PI calculator in Minecraft. It says that I would get only 272.148.480 ISK profit per month.


So what happened ? Did the prices from yesterday change that much. The fun part is that Trading gives 164m ISK and PI Production 107m ISK.

For P4 in HiSec you also have to be a good Trader :D
