Turret sequencing

We all know and love the ability to group your turrets, but i feel it misses some utility which could easily be added. So my suggestion is turret sequencing.

Now what does this mean? its simple, instead of having all your turrets fire at the same time every cycle, you divide your turrets into fire groups. (note this is already possible to some extend but still requires you to activate the different groups each time).

To make it more clear I'm going to give an example of the utility of this change in both PvE and PvP.

Imagine having 6 rockets turrets with 10 second cycles, normally every cycle you would fire every single one of these rockets, which potentially means you will waste a few on the final hit, this drives some people to divide and "count" their rockets to keep this waste as low as possible. With the suggested change you could make this process many times simples as you would only fire groups of 3, 2 or even 1, (at a decreased cycle time) also giving you a more linear damage application instead of occasional bursts. (might attract 1400 arty users)

another great feature of sequencing is your weapons not all being fired at the same time, which means module cycle time is reduced (depending on the amount of groups and default cycle time) and thus allowing you to swap targets faster.
This part should give PvPers that use missiles those precious extra seconds to swap target if needed, which could just be the difference between a win or a loss.

for the people who would like to see the numbers to make it more clear, the options could be something like this:

10 sec cycle time Base
6 rockets mounted Rocket turrets
==========================================

1 group (normal, current)
1 cycle of 10 second 6 rockets fired

2 groups (half/half)
2 cycles of 5 second (total 10), 3 rockets fired per cycle

3 groups (when possible 1/3)
3 cycles of 3.33 second (total 10), 2 rockets fired per cycle

6 groups (serial, depends on amount of turrets)
6 cycles of 1.66 seconds (total 10 seconds), every turret fired separately

as i said it is already possible to replicate this by manually activating every single module every single time on every target, it is supposed to be a utility change to make help capsuleers.

Just make multiple groups, for example I have 2×4 on my RNI. Some cruisers at the moment take 12, so fire double volley and then a single, normally then take a single at the next target at the same time then a double.

Is this what you want above?

I think he wants the game to do the thinking for him. Your idea while interesting is not needed and just makes the game more half paying attention friendly.

On the other hand I think you can make a macro for this as your not automating anything and it would give you the same thing you are looking for.

Ah ok, like selecting single, burst or fully automatic on a AR?

something like firemodes on assault rifles, yes.

it wouldn't so much be an easymode change as a quality of live.

if i use your example, instead of having 2 groups which you fire in a 2.1 1.2 2.1 1.2 pattern you just set your fire group to one of the other fire modes, which fit the situation, and get on on trucking.

no more juggling with fire groups, unless you want to of course.
