Stratios Feedback, CPU issues, intended?

Hi,

So i was trying to fir the stratios, I slapped a covops cloak and an expanded probe launcher, and then 320/500 cpu was gone!

MWD + DC and then it's almost impossible to fit anything reasonable on it!

I think these ships need a bonus to covops cloak CPU usage or to probe launchers, unless they are intended as PVE only ships that should only fit core probe launcher!

Please clarify your intention with the ship.

its intentional. You might think this relegates them to PVE use, but on the forums everyone and their mom are talking about how these will be premier PVP ships. CPU issues aside, the Stratios is far ahead comparable PVP ships (and they have issues too fitting an expanded launcher, except for emergent locus analyzer t3's). The Stratios is also far behind comparable PVE ships in terms of tank, dps, and application/projection.

It's actually way behind comparable PvP ships unless you take perfect solo gank situations with no rats switching from them to you & them being dumb and sitting still at 0 warp in basically.
I'm predicting real world use of it like people are claiming it is ubber in will result in lots of dead Stratios from 'whoopsie, forgot about those rat BS hating Ewar' & other such hilarity including 'whoops, he killed my drones' mistakes.

The Expanded probe launcher is sadly 'intended'. Basically CCP making a massive Derp on their opportunity to actually stop T3's being compulsory in a number of roles and introduce alternatives for some things.

The lack of CPU bonus for cloak and probe launcher is quite deliberate.

You can choose which module to keep online, cov-ops or probe launcher. Switching is very fast in space, its been changed since when it took 10 seconds.

Meaning you can move around with the cloak active, and when you need the probe launcher, offline the cloak and online the probe launcher.

Done deal.

I'm not suggesting the Stratios needs more CPU, but here are the numbers.

A T1 Expanded Launcher costs 220 CPU.

A Sisters Expanded Launcher costs 210 CPU.

A T2 Expanded Launcher costs 242 CPU.

The Stratios has 500 CPU with Lv5 skills.

Other than the fact that you typically need both, this would be a great plan. And you have to be at 90% cap to online a module.
It really should have a probe launcher CPU bonus or a cloak bonus. Both together would be too OP really (& is too OP on the T3), but one of them would be well worth it, it can replace the virtually useless laser bonus atm, since CCP refuse to make it actually worth using lasers on the Stratios except in niche conditions.

If you need to cloak while you are probing, you are bad at multi tasking sir. You can easily safespot and warp around if there is someone actively probing you out.

Are you a member of the two digit IQ club? If you look at my past post you will see that im a paladin of sandbox mmo-rpg's, i will always defend EvE from themepark carebears like you that want to ruin the game with powercreep.

This cruiser is still overpowered and needs a nerf.

Lets focus on the Stratios and the CPU issues when fitted with a probe launcher and cloak:

Solution A

- As it has been pointed out before you can offline a module when not needed, in the case of a the explorer Stratios nobody needs the MWD or AB while scanning a sytstem.
Offline unnecesary modules and your probing fit should not suffer the least bit.

Solution B

- Use the brand spanking new Mobile Depot

It's pretty clear from Rise's posts in the main thread that the ship was designed without the use of an expanded launcher in mind. You don't need combat probes to scan down anom runners.

Not sure if you are "Vaju Enki" but that should not be the problem.
Nice solutions you provided, BUT if you read my post again, I asked for how it is OP and not how you can get around the CPU problem! Again the ship is not OP get on SiSi run some PVE stuff (even 6/10 is freaking nearly unpossible to run efficient) and do some PvP, then you'll see we just dont need another "okay" cruiser since there are already those and they will be way cheaper. The cloak just not cutting it.

I'm not sure what the rest of you are fitting to your ships but I'm really not encountering too much in the way of CPU deficiencies with a covops cloak and a Sisters Core Launcher fitted.

I mean, another 10-20 CPU would be delightful but it doesn't seem quite required.
