I thought Time Dilation is emergency measure, not feature, I recently have been in few fights and tidi was present all the time at 10% it's boring as hell....

Well, when players push the boundaries of the sandbox and gaming in general multiple time's a year...TiDi is a necessity....so as such, a feature.

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

As someone old enough to remember trying to cram 1500 people into a system a few times in the days before TiDi, this is a godsend.

Pre-TiDi was pretty much unplayable. All hail TiDi.

is this the reason we should see TiDi in systems with 200-300 people?

I was in an outpost bash where we took sov from Red Alliance (the Russian one, not the RvB dudes).... IIRC, there were more than 900 people involved. I know for cold hard fact I opened fire on at least 250 hostiles, none of which survived the fight. The pre-TiDi environment was so borked that I registered 0 kills that day, and when the lagging finally stopped, I was in a station, staring at my egg.
It is entirely likely that I lagged out and got instapopped at the beginning of the fight, and it just took my client that long to finally work out that I was already dead.

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

Pretty much. I've seen TiDi with a system of 70 before, and the systems around it were not heavily populated either. I think CCP is just spreading the system nodes a little too thin. They probably sold off half their ancient server infrastructure because they are going broke due to... well... you know, investing in WoT (World of Twilight).

The node had a system on it with a fight going on. If you're referring to highsec.

Pre-tidi you could all have crashed or encountered other symptoms of lag (modules not cycling, etc)

Systems are assigned to nodes randomly, IIRC. In fact, to balance the load it is better to have nearby systems all on different nodes, rather than the same one. People in a random system in highsec might luck out and get a node with asakai or q9pp and suddenly hit 10% tidi for a few hours

You wont get any sympathy on the EvE forums where TiDi is worshiped as the second coming of christ. Like Stokholm Syndrome sufferers most vets are so glad they aren't in disconnect hell anymore, that TiDi purgatory is acceptable to them as the new norm.

You will need to seek an offline support group for your TiDi angst that many of us feel is an affliction not a boon, but take heart -- you aren't suffering alone...

Buddy, boring but accurate is a helluva lot better than "frozen, black screen, pod" of the time prior to TiDi. Appreciate it. Thank CCP for it. Give them kudos for it. Realize that it will be with the game until forever because it is such a brilliant mechanic and it makes the game playable.. even in extreme conditions like that.

Yea, I vastly prefer the jump in...black screen for a long time then wake up in a station in a pod.

People are such suckers.....

CCP introduced tidi as a "feature" and it will never go away. CCP is not capable of making the game playable for big fleets, so now even little fleets get to waste some additional time, whether they like it or not..
I've seen tidi in 200 man fights, that used to run just fine without help.....

And if you honestly think that everyone is getting the same amount of tidi, well i'd like to sell you a bridge. Tidi may allow everyone to get on field, but it does not allow everyone the ability to fight.
Modules still get stuck, weapons don't respond, ships don't respond.

Yes, Tidi is better than the black screen of death, but it's not an answer, it's a cheap fix by lazy programmers.

Much like the Forums, which continue to lose posts, and error out after years of work....What?

No op, LAG was a feature, TiDi is the angelic choir from above sent to aid us from the blackscreen monster.

Now, when some asshat FC calls for the fleet to "drop drones', the entire cluster doesn't lag out/blackscreen/find themselves in station leveled up into a new alpha clone, it just moves a little slower.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
