Lame War Tactics?

Those who base their success in Eve strictly on out of game tools like killboards deserve what happened to you. I don't know about you but that lost faction BS on your killboard will make other defenders in wardecs more confident and eager that they can take you on and send more ships into your grinder. Sometimes its the silver lining that gives the greatest reward. A true opponent would wear that loss with pride, especially with the story it has in your case.

Why does this bother you at all?

Suiciding a faction BS is nothing other than a hilarious waste of ISK on their part. Thinking that your KB stats determine whether you won or lost a war is naive and egotistical.

Kai86 used to do this when his corp was losing fights. Infiltrate the corp, blow up shiny faction battleships, "WIN" the ISK war.

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

To be frank neither of your 2 sides are anything close to competent but is indeed hard to say wich of the 2 were the least entretainign to kill these last weeks, but If my memory serve sme right w ehave killed more mice than expeditioners.

What's "losing"? How does one "lose" a war? I'm confused.

TEST

I should have been clearer. How does one lose a wardec? Clearly you can lose a nullsec war by losing your space, membership, status, epeen, etc. But how do you lose a wardec?

So, my corp recently wardec'd The Icarus Expedition. It started out looking like some good fun. They were fighting, talking smack, etc. Of course, we knew one of their members; he was an ex-corpmate who was really annoying and had to be booted out of our corp - and who continued to cause trouble (which is why we wardec'd his corp).

Anyway, as they started to lose more and more, they resorted to some pretty lame tactics. Now, I must first admit I'm a noob, our corp is new, etc. - but this just seemed to strike me as weaksauce.

First, they undocked a shuttle several times in a row for us to blow up. Presumably, bringing down the average kill value during the war?

Finally, they managed to get a spy in our corp - but that spy didn't have any access to anything, or the ability to feed them any good information because of the security we maintained (how they got the spy in was uncommon - we don't typically allow new members during a war) - but since the spy couldn't do anything, they gave the spy a faction BS - and blew it up. Thus, bringing them to the front of the isk battle.

Again, I'm new - do a lot of corps feel the need to resort to such cowardly/desperate means when losing a war? They can't just acknowledge they've been bested? We've lost a ton of wars when we first started, but never felt the need for such tactics.

Just curious.

I would say two things.
1. Getting a spy in your corp during a war is pretty bad and easily avoidable. If anyone applies to your corp during a war, they are a spy. End of story. Even if they are not.

2. So they artificially increased your losses by blowing up their own faction battleship? I consider that a win. Sure it looks bad on your war history, but you know what really happened. And it will make a good story for future friends and allies.

Now stop being so butt hurt, go back to training your fleet and teaching your pilots how to not do such stupid **** as mining during a war with a snake set in their head. This way the next time your lot are war-targets, we can use a proper set of tactics. That way we can play the game at our level and not yours.

Actually, I'm not butt-hurt. I really didn't care either way; I just play a game and was curious as to what your reasoning on the things you did may have been and was looking for some insight. Now I know - and I appreciate your lengthy response, which gives me much to consider.

Oh - and yes, our guys (and myself) still have a lot to learn - which is why I ask questions. I'm also not always the most diplomatic (very busy with RL), which is why I have someone else in the corp handle diplomacy, so apologize if I sounded rude or whatnot in my original post.

Thanks!
