New Interceptor Models for Rubicon

Hi everyone,

a while back i remember seeing a redesign for the condor/crow model.

New Crow Model

While this new model didn't get deployed , I think it was simply a test model, Rubicons changes to interceptors would be an excellent time for a redesign of the ship class as a whole. Giving them a more unique look compared to thier T1 counterparts, akin to the stealth bomber revamp that went live a while back.

LOL...with 19 days to go I don't think this is going to happen. That IS a cool looking ship though and loving the symmetry.

Design was deemed too cool for public use, was sent back to be designed to add nonsensical asymmetry

Let's just lay it all out: the vast majority of Caldari models (cruiser and below) need a serious overhaul.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Doubtful that it would go down, but if it did I would imagine they could be added in one of the subsequent Rubicon sub patches.

There are new Atron designs as well - they're even featured in the CE book.

I wonder why they redesigned the Atron and the Crow and the Crucifier (and others, as I recall) if they have no intention to actually use the redesigned hulls, which are vastly better-looking in my opinion than what we have now.

Still, I would enthusiastically fly a Crow if it looked like that with the requisite Kaalakiota coloring.

Well, it's not enough to just create new 3D models for ships, they need to attach turret/launcher hardpoints as well and get them programmed to work. And even then, I don't think we'd see CCP release just two or three models at a time (granted, they redid some of the command ships recently, but those weren't new hull designs, just different hulls with new skins). They are probably trying to create a repertoire of new models, get them functioning and then, when they've settled on what they like, release them en masse.

That thought did cross my mind a few times.

it's not jsut the symmetry, the bridge area of the ship is not smushed in enough. Golem did nothing to deserve that punishment lol. Sadly if this change to be, I'll take the old stuff.

I would also say I think the issue is ccp tends to hire from the "you don't need symmetry in space" crowd. Surprised this crowd has not jumped in here yet.

Not like we need 100% symmetry either. Rokh is a good one for this. Its almost symmetrical and the differences in the halves are kind of interesting.

Then we have moa....wtf is up with the appendage dangling out there I have no clue. this was imo assymetry just for the sake of it. I'd be happier if on the gila variant it be kind of like a huge LRM rack you see in mech games. Sure it still be ugly but at least it look impressive fring off missiles. I could even write up fluff for it. To maximize uptime when in station techs remove the missile launcher appendage and hook up a new one. gets the ship out the door faster and the techs work on the now removed appendage.

Caldari models are ancient and bad looking. In a perfect world all t2 ships would have unique hulls at least to share anyway

AWESOME!!!! .... my sentiments exactly on the godawful CCP designs of ships.... it would be nice if all T2 ships got a redesign to accentuate their specialisation as much as aesthetic reasons.

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Nerf web strength, Make the blaster Eagle worth using

It has been said many times but kill the condor/moa and all variants based on that model. It's not 2003 any more you can afford to use more than 100 polygons

This is the sexiest Caldari ship model I have ever seen. It must take the place of the current Condor/Crow/Raptor. It. Must.

Yea not sure why they did so many redesigns just to have them sit around.

If that's not really easy to do they did something horribly wrong. Should be a point on the surface and the surface normal. Tracking should be already be working separately from that and the projectiles/beams and stuff appearing at the correct location should be part of the gun not the ship.
