They break because I fire projectiles and missiles at them.

Sorry, was that not the answer?

Not even that. Exhaust would imply that mass is being ejected which implies that ships contain an infinite amount of stuff to shoot out as flame from faux-thrusters.

Easy, feedback loop with the improbability drive. Though, if you leave it running for to long, you fill up the entire universe. This is very bad!

Well, there are a lot of ways a ship can break, OP.

I will let Rixx and Sindel handle this one...

The warp drive generates strange effects on a ship. The ship experiences friction with increases exponentially, proportional to velocity and mass. This creates a fluid-like effect the the ship.

Also, there is no space. There is only yourself. ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็༼ ຈل͜ຈ༽ส้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้้

Sounds like a fun question to answer...

The engines on the ship function without fuel via a unique interaction with the Higgs Field. Due to this unique interaction, the Higgs Field, is able to induce considerable drag on the engines and thus, onto the ship.

If that was the case you'd never be able to enter another planet's orbit, as one planet may move several km/s faster relative to another planet. Then, another question would be what would be the reference point? Velocity relative to what?

You could start coming up with answers like "velocity relative to local gravity well" but then what about space in between planets?

Villiard wheels. Everything uses them. we have no idea what they do.

Well, a quick Wikipedia search tells me that they either have something to do with a Canadian alpine skier or a flying spaghetti monster. Since only one of these is known to actually exist, and CCP wouldn't defame anyone actually living or that has lived, id say that Villiard wheels are made of biomassed Canadian skiers.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

So Im curious as to how ships break/slow down in eve .. LOL

Your ship doesn't have breaks lol?

My ship comes with breaks lol.

Just set up a keyboard shortcut lol.

it will break your ship lol by making your engines suck instead of blow lol.

Easy, feedback loop with the improbability drive. Though, if you leave it running for to long, you fill up the entire universe. This is very bad!

The reason this doesn't happen is that infinite improbability drives come preprogrammed with the probability of it not happening. Thank god for programmers. Also, the improbability drive has an equal chance of breaking the ship or causing the ship to brake. Very useful if you ask me.
