Hate button please....

Can I have a hate button instead of only the "Like" button please? Optionally a thumb up / thumb down would do. Thumb down to remove overall likes accrued and to allow negative.

Personally, I'd jus tlike to see both:

Dislikes received, 10324

^ This, a like and dislike button, each showing the total number of likes/dislikes accrued, would be nice.

Especially for those who make stupidly useless and unproductive comments.

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

Yep, I support the idea of the double counter...

I don't think this is a good idea.

I love to make stupidly useless and unproductive comments.

You will give me likes and ******* like it. If you hate it, give me 2.

Exactly, as it happened in game it's time to rebalance. If you are stupid let people support you. At 1000 you get the badge: "super stupid".

I think it's be much more constructive to give players a "change is bad" button, because in almost all cases, that's what's really going on inside them. Extreme angsting at the thought of the game mechanics changing. Angst so overwhelming that they are completely incapable of rationally contempating whether the proposed game design change might in fact mave EVE a better game.

Rating is a consequence of your actions. If you post controversial stuff you are bound to get good and bad feedback at the same time. So this creates an incentive to post good stuff. You post crap, you pay in ratings.

Let the circlejerk control how people are viewed without reading what they have actually said. BRILLIANT!

I suggest more of a "karma" system like Reddit. One counter that goes up and down depending on how people have voted for your posts.

My suggestions/opinions are typcially unpopular though, so it would just mean an end of me actually sharing my ideas/opinions in fear that people will just "unlike" it and I will lose credibility for anyone to ever read my posts even though I am being sincere and trying to spark a discussion.

You'll notice the vast majority of ideas are unpopular. Even the great ideas that garner support typically have at least as many people putting them down for some random reason.

I've noticed there are more than a few people in F&I who have never proposed ideas, and some that have never said anything other than "no, this idea is bad"

BTW OP,

No, this idea is awful. Just really horrible.

Who opens up EVE-O, reads threads for a few hours and says "this place needs MORE negativity"?

OR

"I like F&I, but I wish I had a way to leave negative criticism and not ever be called on to provide my viewpoint. Because lets face it, my viewpoint is that I'm totally el thirty three seven and all your ideas suck."

Tell me again about how every playstyle you dont engage in "doesn't require any effort" and everyone who does it needs to die in a fire. Be sure to mention about how you tried it once but it was too easy/boring/ethnic-homophobic slur.

I would like to see the development of the bio and character window.

I want to see the characters bio have features with a like and dislike button, and the chance to make comments below their bio, which could be edited by the character.
This could add a real interesting level of discussions and the ability to know more about the certain players in your system.
This will be a real creative area expressing what players are achieving and saying about their experiences and a continued dialogue with those in their community.

This interest could fill in time while completing missions or pvp and mining.

Dislike buttons lead to internet bullying that then has an impact on peoples RL.
Constantly being put down & hated on is not a good thing, and lets be honest, this is EVE.
We trash people for not being awesome enough to win when solo vs 10 people in a gate camp waiting for them.
The dislike button would be spammed in order to harm people.

So, no thanks. There is a reason they don't have dislike buttons on nearly every form of social media these days.

I disagree, the rating is not exclusive to reddit. It's a useful tool to gauge the bullshit level of the user posting stuff.

Yes- but we can't allow for sufficiently disliked posts to be hidden like some other places that offer such things.
