Sleeper escalation changes

Doing escalations in a sleeper site is great when you control them yourself. But when you get hit by a multiple hostile escalations its not that much fun. Unfortunatly doing hostile escalations is FAR to easy and risk free.

Now. I dont think the hostile escalations should go away in by any means. But the way people do them today they can do it with just about 0 risk involved. Why? Well, because the Sleepless Guardians that spawn do so at a "fixed" range from the initial warpin of the site. This means that if the people doing the hostile escalation warps in at 250km with their caps the big bad sleepers still spawn right on top of the plexing fleet and basicly raping it. I am hey ok with the raping part... but...

I would like to change this so that the escalation waves does not spawn at a specific range from the site warpin but at a range from the capital that spawned it. So instead of the sleepers coming at 80km from the site warpin they come 80km from the capital that warped in. This would essentially force the caps warping in to jump right on top of the fleet in order to make the sleepers go for them... but in doing so they actually put their own ships at risk unlike now.

So you're saying you were surprised by a capital ship? Work on your recon i'd say...?

Otherwise nothing against your suggestion.

Work on recon... yes, well, if the ones doing the escalation know what they are doing you wont know what they are up to until it is to late.

Common hostile escalation scenario

1. Log in and notice a plexing fleet, or just notice it anyway
2. Find the plex they are working on by using directional and warp to... ie. No probes
3. Mobilize at least 200km away from the sleepers, preferrably more
4. Bookmark
5. Wait for the last spawn of the site since that usually contains a number of BS sized sleepers that scram.
6. Get an alt/friend with a cap to log in
7. At the same time as your friend(s) warps in to the POS you warp in to the POS as well
8. Switch to caps and warp to the bookmark
9. Watch the 32 sleepless guardians start their **** of the enemy fleet
9. Warp out laughing

So in general there is hardly any heads up to the people doing the site. You may or may not notice their cloaky as he logs in depending on where he is. In our last escalation they also had their caps in a deep safe so we were totally oblivious to them until we noticed them on directional... and at that time it is kind of to late to do anything but tuck tail and run.

Now as I said I dont mind hostile escalations at all, they are a part of the game. What I don't like is the fact that if you warp in with the caps then the guardians should spawn close to that ship and not to the site origin.

Today hostile sleeper escalations is simply to easy and safe for the ones doing them, I just want them to have a bit of risk of getting caught too.

As i said, your suggestion is nothing bad.

But you can avoid this with good recon.

1. If you plex in your own hole, shutdown every other hole in your system and deploy probes to look for NEW sigs. Plenty of time to be prepared then.

2. If you plex not in your hole, scout enemy pos'es, and shutdown every other hole in that system.
Not as much time as in 1. but hey...your in enemy territory.
