Well you have to admit, the forums are a lot better game than what EvE has become.

Play by Cheque book.

EvE is now just a game were he who has the biggest bank account wins and to add insult to injury while their ingame sales increase, what does EvE get.

A patch, 12 million on Development and EvE gets a patch. Once again we are funding all of the development on other games while EvE crawls in a corner and rots from lack of attention.

Imagine what EvE would be if they actually spent 12 million on an Expansion.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Whilst I disagree with Frying Doom with who has the biggest bank account wins I do agree that at the moment Eve does seem to be getting the shaft in regards to development.

I would love to know how much of that 12 million CCP spent on Development actually was spent on Eve because looking at Rubicon.. very little.

Are you actually suggesting that this game has been about pay to win for over 2 years now? That is how long SOMER has been giving ISK rewards for GTC purchases. Secondly I find it outright silly that you think somebody is going to have some sort of advantage over you when they have to spend $35 for a 200 million CREDIT on a gambling service that could just as easily be lost as it is gained.

Yes I know you can buy every ticket on the board but those of you that actually play blink know that, that can be very difficult at times with how many people play and how fast the lotteries are over. Even when I want to buy half the board I have a hard time accomplishing that unless its on an ultra blink or mega. Again though you won't be getting guarantee win with 200 mil and one ultra or mega.

Secondly Poetic admitted to buying GTC through Blink in the past and had no qualms about it then. Why all of the sudden is this a huge deal for him? Lastly what he did and what SOMER does is VERY different. I know for many they don't see it that way but the devil is in the details and in this instance the details matter.

Spot on, especially since CCP has had a discussion with SOMER about their incentive program.

There are these devices, they are called computers. If you know how you can make them do certain things very fast.

Those type of people(ones that purposely break rules to get an advantage) always exist it doesn't mean they are the majority or what is the topic of discussion. If SOMER endorsed means to buy out an entire board or didn't actively ban people using scripts such as that this would be a different discussion, however it isn't.

This feeling of injustice is one I can't understand and I hope someone can enlighten me.

We as a player base don't fund all of the other development, CCP does.

We pay for access to the game that already exists and the money we use to do that no longer belongs to us, it belongs to CCP.

While I obviously hope that some of the subscription fee helps further development of the game, it is ridiculous to expect someone else to spend their money only in a way that I think they should. Just as I have the right to chose how I spend my money, so does CCP.

Also, in every RL business and organisation I have worked in, no department is a true silo. There is a lot of consultation and communication between teams and ideas that end up being used by one team often originate or have substantial input from others. So to think that all of the developers working on Dust and other projects don't also have a input into the further development of Eve is a little naive I think.

People are really flipping out here... it's a strange time for the game. I don't think people were this emotional about the Incarna fiasco. I wonder how many people just unsubbed and walked....

Its all about CCPs **** crisis management.
During the Ishukone scandal they were out of town and couldnt be bothered to deal with community stuff, I dont agree with this but welp.
Now its obvious that CCP actually dont give a **** independently from if they are or are not at work w/e.

As much as this may be true, the really really really important thing to remember is that Eve is there main source of income.

So whilst its good to spend money developing new products, what they can not do is neglect their main source income.. that would be Eve, to such an extend that their customers leave.

Kill the cash cow and you have no cash to spend on anything else.

At the moment for me personally, and for a lot of people I know, Eve has become stagnate.

So....here's the thing. CCP is developing...what 3 other games atm? Valkyrie, Dust, and WoD. That's where the "R&D" went, obviously. You can't develop 3 titles in parallel without funding, and it's CCP's right to spend their fund exactly as they see fit.

Dust looks to be an abysmal failure. It's simply a question of time, for every step forward Dust takes, the rest of the fps market takes 3 steps forward. Dust is bust. Valkyrie is a wildcard. I hope it does well, I want to play it. WoD....didn't they close down the Georgia studio that was working on WoD?

Rubicon looks to be a decent amount of positive changes. But it isn't really a decent sized expansion. The last time we got something that was truly "expansion" sized was Apocrypha. A few ships alone don't really count as an expansion. Now, between Incarna and Rubicon, we've gotten an absolute MOUNTAIN of bug fixes and rebalancing. These fixes were necessary and helped the game immensely, but I think the bulk of the community thinks time has come for new features, on the scale of Apocrypha. Passed time in fact.

If he's cashing out and obviously isn't intending to come back then why would he care whether his RMT is traceable?

Yes they have done a lot of bug fixes and a lot of rebalancing while actually dodging the main 3 things that needed fixing

POS code, Sov and Corporate roles and access.

Yes it is CCPs right to spend their money as they choose but it is also very much a consumers right to say "Hey, how about instead of spending all your money on other crap, you spend it on the game that actually PAYS you"

And they wonder why they need a gambling site to keep them afloatLol

I doubt he does.

As they got their Plex and used them, the transaction is complete.

The only real right a consumer has in the case of an online video game is to choose whether or not to spend their own money on it. It's just that simple really.

Tidi has actually made large fights playable, so I wouldn't say they've dodged all the hard issues. The facwar fixes were also great. Crimewatch too. But all of those were fixes for things that were generally in a bad state beforehand.

We could really use some genuinely new content (like apocrypha). I'm not asking for an apocrypha expansion every 6 months. But an apocrypha sized expansion every 3-4 years? Would be reliably good for everything, from the playerbase to CCP's bottom line.
