I would keep listening to the in game music if it wasn't for those s***ty mission soundtracks. You know the ones. You use a jumpgate to enter a mission and up starts the crap mission music that just breaks my immersion from EVE.

Wait..there's actually mission specific audio? This I did not know but then I have music turned down to 0. I might have to check it out now though.

EDIT: This is not a "What? EVE haz sound" remark.

it wouldn't be so bad if the audio didn't stop after 10 seconds.

No they should start playing terrible music when ever you enter missions, and when you turn your mining lasers on..

I was hoping they would let the music play longer Shocked

I'm being serious.

There for a while I had it then one day I jumped through a mission accel. gate and got none. This kept up for some time so I turned my music volume back to 0. Not sure if it was just me or a bug or they decided they wanted to remove it after all but this seems to indicate it's still there. Guess I need to turn up the music next time I run a mission.

+1, this is quite literally the only reason I turn the music off in eve, that mission music is painful.

This is a terrible thread. As such, it's locked. - CCP Falcon

that music is supposed to get you amped up for the final boss or last level of the mission!

100% agreed. I prefer to immerse myself to the subtle chaos of smooth jazz, the dulcet tones of classic rock, or the whorish moans of porno-lesbo mutual masturbation vids playing in the background.

yeah. i call them "acceleration gate tracks" and they are the primary reason why i turned music off. Ever roamed through FW space and fought in plexes? Thats all you will hear. In a loop.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Look, farmers need that hardcore soundtrack to make them feel badass when they warp in to AFK another plex.

just wanted to say that i enabled music, roamed an evening in FW space and i didn't hear the "acceleration gate track" the whole roam.

maybe its already disabled for plexes? -> awesome

Personally I like the acceleration gate tracks. As much as I love the general eve music, it just doesn't suit blasting a whole bunch of pirates imo. That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to an option to turn acceleration gate music off while leaving the rest of EvEs music going since it wouldn't affect anyone. This doesn't have to be an all or nothing proposition.

To be fair, some of the tracks aren't too bad, I even like a couple. But the majority of them are just annoying.

Um, I have to disagree. I really like those tracks; being in combat while still listening to the usual, peaceful music IS inmersion breaking.

That said, it again loses inmersion when you enter again for salvaging, when combat has already ended. Perhaps if the music activation behaviour could be based on wether there still are reds around and/or when things start to lock on each other...
