What is this guy talking about? It's not a break from tradition to nerf Caldari. That's a long standing EVE tradition.

You should see the stats for the never published Erinye:

Tristan class hull
90% less CPU for modules requiring 'Advanced Gunnery' (let's assume that means 'weapon upgrades')
6H/4M/2L (4 launchers, 2 turrets)
no drone bay

Also, the Amarr have an unpublished assault frig called 'the gatherer' that has a bonus only to deep core miners. LAZORS FTW.

Moving hull specs around gives you something to train for (you did need to train ALL the weapon systems, right?) and shakes up the economy (players can't seem to do that enough). Ground breaking new content - meh, who needs that?

I believe you have a point: due to the historical missile focus of Caldari ships (Merlin, Kestrel, Condor, Caracal, Drake, Raven, Phoenix) it pains me to see Minmatar and Amarr ships arguably doing better in the role of missile-based combat ships. And yes, Tippia, the Merlin was originally a dual weapon ship just like the Rifter was projectile/missile based many years ago.

60% of their ships are pretty useless without missile skills back in the day and today.
So yeah saying that Caldari never was/is the missile race is a pretty weak trolling attempt tbh. You can do better.

Dedicated missile HAC, missile DD, missile frig,missile cruisers,missile recons, missile dread and missile titan, yep definitely NOT a missile race absolutely not.



Caldari are a missile AND hybrid race. They are not just missiles. They have the most missile focused ships, and their hybrid ships were crap for a long time, but they were never just a missile race. The devs have made this quite clear.

To answer your question specifically, there was no "missile race", ever.

Giving Khanid ships damge bonus to long ranged missiles and strenghtening Minmatar ships that use missiles to do rainbow damage beyound that of Caldari may just be an issue about flavor and variance (I don't think so), but allowing both to keep more generous drone bay than Caldari is a slap in the face.

It'd be nice if Caldari at least got some kind of unique type of bonus to missiles, to distinguish them from other races' equivalents. Velocity, maybe, or make them better at hitting small targets in an analogue to Gallente's tracking bonuses. (Speaking of bonuses that used to be racial and are now homogenized...)

And no, "kinetic damage" doesn't count. That's a malus disguised as a bonus.
