WHY U MAKE VEXOR SAD?!?!?! Sad

The vexor's smiley face (Big smile) was what made the vexor, the vexor. Now you've taken it away, now it's just another gallente ship. (Cry)

I didn't even know about the existence of this smiley face. I think the new Vexor is awesome. Sorry. Sometimes nostalgia has to make way for progress. (Otherwise we might still have a few pre-Trinity ships flying around.)

Not a valid argument. The removal of the smiley is not progress, nor would its return be counter to progress as you imply with the pre trinity ship argument. The smiley vexor could be returned simply by altering the color and lighting of the smile that still exists on the vexor model. They turned it off, they can turn it back on.

Exactly.

And to Shivus, the reason it's progress is that these new skins are more polished and are designed for their future plans with paint schemes in mind. Sure, they could make the "happy Vexor" (whatever that is), but it would be a bit late in the game to change it now (but who knows? Maybe they will change it back).

But I agree with Montevius. Smiling ships...er...whassat?

I actually did.

The texture remains, only the color was changed. There is no valid reasoning that a simple color change = progress unless ccp is planning on having us pay for smiley vexor skins. The entire point of V3 is to make custom paintjobs easy, thus it should be very easy for CCP to turn the smiley back on.

MLP is awesome at being for children.

Much like a smilieyface Vexor is awesome at being intetllectually stimulating for mongoloids and has no place in any spaceship game, much less EVE.

Plenty of smiling ships in EVE. Or ships with faces.

Take a look at the back of the Orca, bit from top -> happy joker face, bit from below -> evil grin.
The Brutix had clearly a face before Trinity, its now a bit harder to see but it is still there.

There are more ships like that. Is a bit sad they will remove the ' happy face' from the Vexor. It is still there but not as prominent as it is now.

Yes, they could probably bring back a V3 version of the smiley. With a bit of extra/late-game work. But I think the new plated look of the Gallente ships is way better. I see no need to have a single ship that doesn't match just because of a smiley face that not everyone cares about. If CCP can bring it back WITHOUT making the ship texture look mismatched compared to the new Gallente ships, great! I just don't see the need to sacrifice an awesome skin for the sake of nostalgia.

New skin > smile

But both is fine too. Just not smile only. Waste of work and lack of newness.

Because bringing back the smiling vexor and eradicating space camo from the universe is what CCP is saving in its back pocket when its needs to appease its player base again.
