Ship orbit values available to be set inside station and...

...make them fixed to the respective ship, and not a general value for all ships!

Now that CCP removed the timer to swap ships after docking ( thank you CCP that minor change was WAY more important than CQ all by itself )...PLEASE LET US ASSIGN A FIXED ORBIT TO A SHIP! while still docked or not...but i would like to see a fixed orbit for a specific fit / tactic.

Example: 2 identical ships, but different fighting approaches, 1 close range combat, the other kite fit...when you fit the ship you can also assign a orbit to it WHILE INSIDE STATION, doesnt matter if you change ships later, when you undock that particular ship IT WILL have the orbit that you assigned to it...

I have lost countless ships, mostly cause of changing from a close range fit to a kite one, where i fly the untanked kite fit straight into scram range ( when this happens in fast ships, even if you realize the mistake it will never be on time ) but not asking this cause of my losses...it just makes sense, and makes the experience better ( remember you will always have the option to change orbit during a fight or particular situation, its just a sort of default orbit value for each ship you fit )

Please if you agree with this minor ( but important ) change, post ssomething, let's see if we can get this done, with this new "we now hear the community" CCP way of doing things.

If you do no agree with this idea, at least explain, what are the drawbacks ( besides killing me in the situation a described before )

I like this idea. I've had countless times I've remembered only belatedly to adjust my orbit or keep at range distance. Now, it usually doesn't result in my losing my ship, but it often results in frustration just the same.

My only concern is if storing multiple ship ranges would increase server lag. Of course, they could always store that data on the client side. Which would mean you'd lose it if you switched computers, but hey, that's still better than what we've got now.

Yes, i mentioned the times that this made me loose a ship...but yeah, equally frustrating, are the times where after changing from a long point ship to a scram one...i let my target go away when i hit orbit.

I'd like to point out the fact that this doesn't occur many often, and when i undock ( in peace, nobody in system ) to start roaming, i do check my orbit values etc...this problem tend to happen when you change ships, after a fight that you loss, or couldn't win, and still have that adrenalin pumpin, or you have your target right outside station, and you have to undock and check if the orbit values are ok for the ship fit you choose....this is when i miss this feature the most.

Make it a specific value for each ship fit, and also make it changeable inside station.

"I updated the Orbit & Keep-At-Range buttons to save their settings per ship-type. So, your favorite battleship can orbit at 40km, and with the same button, your favorite interceptor will orbit at 3km."
