But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you. Are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet, or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I'm not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool; you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me. You've beaten my giant, which means you're exceptionally strong. So, you could have put the poison in your own goblet, trusting on your strength to save you. So I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But, you've also bested my Spaniard which means you must have studied. And in studying, you must have learned that man is mortal so you would have put the poison as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

He only insta-gibbed twice in 5 minutes at a range that I didn't even see him.

It's fine though, forgot to upgrade my clone and lost a week of training.

Yeah, I'd love to know how he's doing it- at this moment he's been sitting outside of Hek VIII station in a legion ganking FW targets for 5 hours. I'd love to be doing the same in Uuhulanen. If anyone figures it out, I don't have 3 billion to offer for it, but I'll forward my victims' tears to your inbox on a daily basis.

A bit of an exhume, but bump for this thread. I am interested to know how this works.

I lost a geddon about 7 months ago testing if I could tank them. It was slow death, with a tad more resist and reps I would have been stable. Faction navy's aren't concord, you just have to tank their dps

I am wondering what the minimum EHP you need is to station gank effectively, and how it scales with the sec of the system.

I'm not an expert on this, but station FW ganks appear to work in one of two ways:

- use something like a cockbag thrasher, pull off a really quick gank against a noob frigate and warp around for a minute or so, redock.

- use something hardcore (like a Legion, a tactic that Gallente FW pilots trying to get in and out of Villore will know about only too well), gank your target, tank the faction navy / police, wait out the minute timer, redock. So the question is, how big does your tank need to be to be able to tank out the damage? How does the navy / police response scale with sec?

The Legion I've seen doing this is tanked to about 120k EHP, repping about 230 or so EHP a second. In DPS terms, however, that Legion is actually quite tepid: it's using Pulse lasers with Scorch, delivering 381 DPS with a volley of 1171. Usually takes several shots to get the job done, so it's not really alpha although it has a WD that reaches 36k overheated. And the victims are almost always frigates or destroyers.

It is evidently all about the tank. How much is enough?

And the sec status of the system, so I'm going to go a ittle off-topic now...

If you're in Gallente FW, the ganking outside the FDU station in Villore (a 0.5 sec system) is a real PITA, borderline griefing at times. It wouldn't be so bad were Gallente afforded a similar opportunity to gank opponents in 0.5 systems heavily frequented by Caldari pilots, but conveniently there aren't any: Nourvukaiken is the main Caldari non-contestible staging post - a nice 0.8 sec system, and there's next to no-one in the 0.5s of Elanoda, Usi and Oshaima.

Either raise Villore's sec to 0.8, or drop Nourvukaiken's to 0.5 like Villore, so Gallente can rock up with their Legions and slaughter the Caldari noobs in equal amounts as they try to undock.

Back on topic....

Personally I think that it should be impossible to dock in the stations of your enemy militia full stop, or enemy faction pilots should receive uber station guns or hardcore, Corcord-strength navy battleships instantly on arrival or departure from them to avoid the tanky Legion / battleship scenario outside. No issue with travelling through enemy systems keeping on the move, but what kind of navy lets the enemy dock up and shop, repair etc in their own bases? Mentalism.

Ermagherd, highsec isn't safe! Not enough blue zones in EVE. Except nullsec, that place sucks because it's a blue donut. lel

Haven't tested if it still works but back in the day it was basically:

- Jump into high sec system with an alt in an mwd vigil in your militia

- Warp alt to safespot and wait until Navy NPC spawn then start burning away (They only have 80km webs)

- Warp on-grid to your alt and then warp off-grid. The Navy NPC that spawned on you will then switch on your alt

- So long as your alt and your own Navy NPC spawn are on-grid together you will be able to move around a high-sec system.

noone cares if you have a big e-peen.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.
