I remember at the start of this when Navigator implied he had done a full audit of all somers transactions and systems and stated proudly that they honoured everything perfectly and were legit.

Did he miss the RMT aspect? Or was he confused by the fluid, uncertain EULA too? Does that mean he's going to reverse all those transactions that he totally audited and wasn't just lying about in order to promote somer?

All that means is that they do what they say they're gonna do with isk. That is: give you some (or give you credit) to keep you clicking that button and buying that GTC when you run out of money.

What Navigator did not do was this

Never underestimate the power of self delusion.

People at CCP knew what was going on. They rationalized it somehow because it helped sell more plexes.

The best part of all of this is that if CCP hadn't have given them the scorpions no one would have ever made a fuss about it.

Enjoy those scorpions!

Now remember though guys:
If this is the way it sounds like it is going, Somer will have 10 days to cease RMT activities. Banning may or may not occur, who knows but CCP on that side.
Either way, Somer may not be able, or may not be eager to carry on at the rate they are.
Personally I'd advise anyone that still has an outstanding balance with them to cycle it through blinks and cash out as much as possible before the inevitable.
If once the dust settles they are still operating, then you could cash back in.

I most certainly wouldn't leave an outstanding payment and cross my fingers hoping they'll still pay out to the community once this storm hits. But that's just me.

they definitely won't pay out. look at that one guy who they took 16bil from for a lotto that never materialized, and then never gave it back.

This is what its all about ladies and gentleman. Give away isk ingame, people gamble the isk, people run out of money. People click butan to buy PLEX. Somer gets paid (RL cash referral/affiliate percentage) CCP gets paid.

CCP props up and touts blink as a beneficient community org and gives them rare ships. Initially UBER rare ships to raffle off, all generating more hype, more buzz more gamblers, more clickthroughs and more dough for Somer, more dough for CCP.

and there is nothing bad in this story. Just well run business model.

So how much do you get to shill for SOMER?

And no I'm not jealous of SOMERblinks in game or out of game assets. I've got my own profitable scams to keep me warm at night.

But you are kidding yourself if you don't think Somer was gaming the system. It really does stink.

I'm kinda curious about you people who are still baying for Somer's blood. I get that you're unhappy. I am too. Favoritism is bad. Messing with the sandbox is bad. There's a lot to not like. But have you really thought about what it means if CCP were to kick Somer out? Do you not realize how horrifically bad this would make CCP look? Analogy time.

Old Lady: I would like to cross the road.
Policeman: OK, go and cross the road.
Old Lady: It is OK for me to cross the road then?
Policeman: Oh yes.
Policeman: Tell you what, I'll even give you a hand.
Old Lady: Sweet!
Policeman: That's OK, I heard you help out other people too.
Old Lady: Yes, sometimes I do, but it often benefits me too (sinister cackle).
Policeman: OK, you can manage the rest of the way.
Old Lady: Thanks, almost there. See you around!
Policeman: STOP! OR I'LL SHOOT.
Old Lady: Errr OK, I've stopped. I've done as you aske....
Policeman: Sorry, got to kill you now.

Old Lady gets mown down in a hail of gunfire.

Is this really the CCP you guys would be happy doing business with? They've been giving Somer the green light for years. They've been thanking them. They've given them their blessing. This is indisputable.

Now you want CCP to do a u-turn and "mow them down". You're the same guys who ***** about CCP not being trustworthy right? The ones who get all butt hurt when CCP renege on delivering something, yeah? The ones who cry rivers of tears when you're told you can go ahead and do something, but then are told later you should stop doing it. At least they didn't ban you once you had stopped.

But now all of a sudden, you actually want CCP to act in this way. People, get a grip for once. Please.

some dude deposited 16bil when the Guardian-Vexor thing was on the table and endorsed by CCP. when that plan fell through, he tried to get his isk back but Somer only gave him the run-around and then just straight up started ignoring him.

Crossing the road was always against the law, just because some cops looked the other way for a few years does not change that fact.

yes, it would mean the rules are being applied fairly, for once. everyone else who shows the slightest hint of RMT gets a banhammer, but in this case we have clear evidence of massive ongoing RMT to the tune of over $135k over several years. if that isn't ban-worthy, i don't know what is.

They dont have to kick Somer out. They just need to not let them be a GTC referral and give away isk ingame to incentivize people clicking the GTC button on their site. Somer would shut herself down real quick as it would no longer be profitable.

Or at least let other people like DNSBlack or the Black Legion. guy do the same thing she has been doing for years What?

It's not really like that though is it. Somer have been running an RMT scheme, thats what this is about.
The fact that CCP gave them ships and endorsed them is a separate issue that was dealt with separately. This on top just makes CCP look stupid.
I don't think for a second that CCP helped Somer RMT directly, just by misjudging them. Now if Somer stop RMTing, that's good, but it's already been going on. If another RMTer got told to stop and did, would you then say they should be left unpunished too?
CCP need to fully audit Somer, figure out exactly how far this has stretched, then give an appropriate punishment. We would expect the same for anyone else, so why not Somer?

Aside from your terrible analogy which makes no sense (in what way is SOMER like a little old lady?), I would be satisfied to know that SOMER loses his RL cash cow. Who gives a rat's ass about the imaginary pixel side of it. RL tears, best tears.

Edit: EVE is REAL. Just look at SOMER's bank account, he was there!

Logic fail. There's only one cop and he was happy with you crossing the road every single day. He also helped you to cross the road. But one day, he killed you for it.
