Terrain again....

I know this has been proposed before but...
One thing about eve eve always found fascinating is the lack of terrain. Before you point out that it's in space I can assure you I am aware of that. Additionally I would draw your attention to the nearest asteroid belt. How many Sci Fi shows have you heard a sensor tech state "I can't get a good reading because".....
I would propose the following terrains and effects for the purpose of shaking things up and adding a little more uncertainty and challenge to want has become somewhat predictable encounters.
1. Asteroids
• Reduce targeting range by 75% that's right 75% all of those rocks should make it difficult to lock on to a target.
• Reduce the effective signature of all ships and targets by 200% (hard to hit)
• Hide all ships from probes and directional scanners.
• mining barges, exhumers and capital industrial ships are immune from this effect due to there purpose built equipment.
• Book marks.
• Only allow miners to warp to a book mark all other ship due to lack of accurate sensor readings can only warp to asteroid belts. At a range of 50k
• Make collision with asteroids cause real and significant damage. There big, and running into them should hurt.
• Bombs and missiles should have a significant chance of detonating early say 75%.
• Yes this would apply to rats as well.
Ice Belts
• Same as above but damage would occur every 30 sec based on you speed.
Gas Clouds
• Same a asteroids but nothing to hit.
• Weapons fire would have a chance of igniting gas and the offending ship would take damage
Nebula
• Well we've all seen Star Trek
Volatile space
• There is currently in worm hole space a rare belt type that causes EM damage every couple of minutes it needs to be deployed in low and null sec as well.

So why propose this? Because minors don't have a real career path like other roles do. Sure we are needed but we are also stuck in high sec or have to join a large alliance and mine like dogs for them. The risk to being bush wacked in low sec is to great for the reward. What does it mean for low sec gankers? It means if you're hunting miners you have to do it the hard way and give independent miners a fighting chance to escape or fight, ninja mine, etc. Lastly think of the fleet fights that could happen when fleets try to stage in an asteroid belt so as to go undetected...
CCP "don't wait for the translation" implement this proposal now!
Feedback welcome. Pirates and "I like it this way because I don't want to change" just x up we know what you're going to say.

A 75% reduction in targeting range would not work, for the following reasons...

You either nerf the targeting range to hell, requiring miners and mining fleets to constantly move. No more than two or three asteroids will be within range of their guns. Mining has just gone from tedious to micromanagement hell. And with that 50 km warp in, you're looking at a fifteen minute slowboating from warp-in until entering mining range.

Or, if you compensate by increasing the range of mining beams to the point where miners within the asteroid belt can still remain within range of dozens of asteroids, you immediately end up with things like...125 km mining, when not within the asteroid belt itself. This makes the 50 km warp in useless.

The signature radius reduction would completely destroy any combat in asteroid belts. You would end up with situations like frigates not being able to hit webbed battleships. Not to mention, this change kills ratting. Completely.

Hiding ships from probes and D-scan...this one actually makes a little bit of sense. Just a little. It would encourage people to actually go out and check belts for people that are hiding.

I'd like to see ship-to-object collision damage...but if applied to asteroids, it opens the door for general ship-to-object collisions, including ship-to-ship - which will never get done because of undocking in busy places like Jita. You'll get concorded upon undocking.

75% chance of missile detonation in an asteroid belt doubly kills anyone that rats with a kestrel, caracal, drake, or raven. Not only will their missiles hit for sh** damage, they spontaneously explode most of the time.

ANY other method of getting miners from highsec to lowsec and nullsec works better than this. These proposed changes (for the most part) would cripple eve gameplay within asteroid belts.

Eve UI wouldn't suck if CCP allowed UI addons.
