This feature has been suggested before, but I would like to repeat it as it would be very useful.

Members of the logistical backbone of corporations and alliances often provide ready-to-go, fitted ships for their members. Currently fitting those ships requires individual actions for each and every ship. Both renaming and fitting the ships has to be done for every ship separately. Given that the amount of ships handled often numbers in the hundreds, this is a very time consuming job, one that could easily be automated.

It should be possible to rename a selection of ships of a certain type and fit them with a saved fit, all with a handful of clicks.

+1 because you're in my corp and +2 because I know how many ships we do this for in a weekly basis (close to 300). Even have it set up like the LP store where we can buy in bulk of a 100 at a time. If it's easier on the programming/server load/etc put a hard limit to 10 ships at a time. Even that would be greatly beneficial.

Supported. The less pain in the ass logistics are, the more fun we can have.

+1. Would save lots of time. Although I'd be worried about the server load it might cause. When creating a contract with 200 unique items my client gets buggy. I'm worried what would happen if you tried to fit 100 ships at once.

For this reason I'd be just fine with a 10 at a time limit.

10 at a time would be a massive improvement for basically all purposes. Sure fitting ships for Burn Jita 3 might be a long process still, but for the weekend ganker, the null fleet doctrine brainstormer or most other people it would be a huge improvement.

that is client side not server side. same thing happens when you are doing a trade with mass amounts of ships that are fit. you can see this for your self by having two clients up and watch as the the client putting the item in the trade window has heavy lag while the one receiving does not until the trade is complete and then the one receiving has lag while the one giving does not. you can how ever fix this issue by getting your self an SSD. it really fixes most of the lag problems anyone has client side since, in ccp's brilliant thinking, made everything you do read and write to your hard drive instead of utilize ram.

Ship fitting is currently one of the most time consuming parts of fitting large numbers of ships for corporations/alliances. It can be made better, by simply adding an option to fit X of a specific ship (provided you have the parts/hulls/ammo/rigs/etc available).

After that, CCP needs to add a similar update for contracts.
