Marketplace with standings support EDIT: Listing buyer/seller

I scanned through and didn't see anything similar, but please forgive me if I missed something.

It would be nice if marketplace showed us the owner of every buy and sell order. In addition, we should be able to choose which order to buy or sell from, even if it isn't the best. Finally, adding effective standing color codes and the ability to filter based on standings would be nice.

The benefit here is to support the ability to alter the universe through the market. Someone might want to set a common scammer red so they don't even see their orders, or perhaps they know a particular trader is allied with Alliance X and they don't want to do business with that trader. After all, wouldn't you perhaps give up a fraction of percent profit to avoid helping your enemy or in order to support a friend?

I believe it is a relatively simple change, and it follows the nature of the sandbox. We fight over resources all the time. Why shouldn't we be able to continue that fight in the marketplace itself without having to resort to contracts?

It was suggested before and best way to implement this (IMO) is:

add 1% (configurable) to pricetag per point of standing buyer/seller have with you, so you will buy 10% cheaper from someone who has +10 to you, and you can sell for 10% more to someone you have -10 with.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

It would be unworkable for one simple reason:

Neutral market alts.

Yep, it'd simply be metagamed into uselessness by anyone who gave a hoot.

Unless someone tended to only buy or sell with blues, which would of course hurt the many neuts out there.

No, it would hurt them exclusively. Everyone else, including most of their blues (who are using neutral trading alts) would just buy from someone else.

The way I see it, the market for neutral's would be for everyone. Someone coming in to refill their Vindi with ammo will likely buy rom a neutral in jita. Where-as, if we needed to buy something in particular, and joining a particular militia was required to get a lower amount, then it'd take market pvp to a whole new level IMO. If I'm wrong, let me know. I'm all ears.

This. Unless partial to taking a Charon all over the place, they will stock up just afew stations. Reds unless bad will camp these. Need the neut hauler to move around these camps...May as well make them buyers too.

Also unless these peeps real nice....most homes I have been in with an alleged corp/alliance discount I saved isk buying in jita and paying 250 isk per m3 to ship to 0.0. I saw better deals for caps by the enemy here than internally as well lol.

Well that and generally it's good for pvp to have lots of wth buy orders up. Sometimes people will fill any order no matter how bad the price is. On some meat grinder campaigns bad sellers filling my low ball orders kept me in ships when isk running low lol.

If there was any significant volume in trade in that militia hub, then neutral traders would move in, sell to both the militia guys AND the local neutrals, make much more ISK than you etc. etc.

By selling to only your blues, you are locking yourself out of large sections of the market, which INCLUDE a lot of your blues with trading alts. Why do you hate money?

there is a working model of this. It be locked outposts in 0.0. this restricts sales/buys so prices tend to go up since they lack volume of sales. I found it cheaper to pay for jf couriers from jita or the empire collection point they had than to buy the blue gear right there in 0.0.

Even basic ammo was pricey. Ammo in a truly free market is a profit by volume business. Lots of sellers isk warring. Lots of sellers accepting they will make their isk just a few isk per round/missile/crystal at a time worst case.

When it becomes blue only sellers boost price to make profits. In 0.0 they don't have 5000 buyers daily. this was why I spent less paying 250 isk per m3 for shipping. 0.0 would markup say 400 isk lacking volume sales. 10000 rounds with a savings of 150 isk per round right there.

If you want true blue sales its in game already as well. Its called corp sale contracts. I was in one home that was relatively nice. At corp level our leadership set up pre-made contracts with fleet spec ships in one kit in contract. Slight markup over jita but tolerable. And the stuff was right there.

No standing recoding required. Just have to be blue to see corp contracts. You get what you want, ccp is not recoding a major section of the game. Win win really.

Everyone makes good points. I think the best option would just be to see who's selling/buying. At most, perhaps a way to do a specific "block this person" and those orders are removed from your view and not considered in the buy/sell.

While allowing you to skip an order and sell/buy a specific order my be used by cheaters to transfer isk through the market to disguise RMT. There's other ways to track, this by CCP, though. "Hey, user just blocked 30 people and then paid a huge amount of isk!"
