Make characters die at 100M SP, make EVE real.

I think this would be an awesome way to encourage the circle of life in EVE. Make EVE more real.
The whole immortal pod pilot thing is silly, lets encourage a character lifespan cycle.

All 'active' characters train - whether you have a skill allocated or not. (This is to prevent people from skilling up to 99M, then training on another char.)

When your character reaches 100M, he 'dies' or graduates from 'Bovine Universtiy', or whatever you prefer to imagine.

You can always adjust your implants or mapping to extend your life, but when you hit 100M, thats it, game over, time to roll a new character.

Obviously a few minor changes would need to be made to the skill training system to accommodate this. (IE, multiple chars on an account...), but CCP had no problem erasing ghost training and ghost implants, so I can't see it being too difficult adjust things in this area as well.

I would like to see this during the Winter Expansion.

So? Just don't inject any further skillbooks and you won't reach 100M, fail.

Haha...no. We're IMMORTAL. We have CLONES. If you think that's silly, EVE is not for you. It's a frickin' SCI-FI game, for pete's sake. Clones aren't out of reach anymore.

There is only one response to this suggestion.
That response is a resounding scream of 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'

10/10, my good sir.

You will catch many pubbies with this.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Nope, I've already thought of this.

Unused SP go into your 'unused SP pool', and are applied to your lifespan total.

This already exists, in game, would be easy to implement.
No easy workarounds, as escaping the Reaper is an exploit.

So, no, the idea is NOT fail.

Assuming your intention is to cause tens of thousands more subscription losses then no, it's a fantastic idea.

This would work, except for the fact that capsuleers don't actually have a lifespan. They're pretty much the trillionaires of the EVE universe. The fact that there's a lot of them doesn't make any difference. We can afford clones. We can live forever. Plus, why would you want to do this, anyway? Training every skill to level 5 (as they stand now) would take around 20 YEARS. EVE hasn't even been around that long.

-1 for pointlessness.
-1 for ignorance of lore.

Sorry. Bad idea.

Every game has player characters that die from old age.

YOU (the player) die of old age, and then you stop playing that character.

Well - although it's quite obvious the OP is trolling, it takes some talent to come up with such blatant idiocy.

Not sure if serious.

Anyhow, I've been playing on Gung since release. Why would I want to biomass my character I've been stupid loyal playing with for over 8(?) years now.

It's like rewarding longevity with a big F-U. No thanks.

Haven't you ever seen the Lion King?

I think the EVE population needs to accept that they are going to die someday - and that death comes at 100M SP.

Don't get attached to your ships. Don't get attached to your pod.

Yes, it contradicts game lore, but its not like that hasn't already happened before, when new game mechanics demand it.

**To be fair, I think CCP should 'grandfather' in older accounts at least 2 million additional SP, so they have a little time to put their affairs in order and say good-bye in a dignified manner.

Unless of course, you "will" your character to a family member or other party. CCP would probably be all a twitter about a move like this. You of course, wouldn't care (your dead) and the rest of your family would just wonder why you were so screwed up that a stupid game was important enough to leave/mention in your will. It might be worth doing just for the lol's/confusion.

Or...just before you kick call the grandkid up and sell the toon to him.

Little bastard will probably just sell it for isk....never mind...
