it's pretty straight forward. how much do you want to spend on the machine?

Oh dear, you thought i was serious... This is embarrassing... Oops

(and for the anti 32bit guys, yes, it's pretty lame that he is not getting the full potential amount of memory, but 3.3 should still be plenty for 2 clients. The amount of memory he has isn't the issue here, and if you believe it is, well... good for you *pats head*)

I haven't been paying attention to my mem usage but from what I know of it, it's about where it should be pre/post incarna. *shrugs* Part of it could be the mandatory loading of thumbnails for people's avatars. Scanning locals for reds in Jita without a hacked client is a PITA due to all the thumbnail loading going on.

How can I turn this off? I've looked. Can't find an option.

Yes, my system isn't the issue here if it was fine prior to the last patch! It's not like I just started playing eve, I have played for 2 years on the same system without any problems!!

There is a reason I chose to run a 32bit on a 64bit compatible sytem and that is certain software that I use, which is off topic!

Typo: Windows 7 Ultimate (not home premium, as thats my laptop)

Then you have 3 options

Clear your game cache.
Then you can play with the game settings and see if the reduces the mem usage.
Download a brand new client to see if the fixes it (doubtful)

let me guess:
client hacking software. which won't work in 64 bit mode because of the memory protection schemes inherent in the 64bit version of windows - enabled by features in the x86-64 instruction set.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

You're just full of fail today. All I'm going to say is VM. And no, you can't challenge me to spell it out for you.

4 clients running using between 642k and 665k each. RAM usage max 50% (12gig) . 3 to 6% CPU

edit your hosts file to redirect calls to the EVE image server to localhost

My god, you really are a d-i-c-k, and i bet your'e a right one in real life too!

I cant use the 64bit as work related software wont run on it which is priority over any game.

BUT, it is still off topic and has naf all to do with the actual posts... #sigh#

I have noticed that since last patch that the ExeFile.exe is using neally double the amount of memory than before the patch;

Before Patch: 488,000K (Approx)
After Patch: 888,000K (Approx)

Is anyone else feeling the pain?

Makes using another account pointless for me....

been suffering with this amount of ram useage on my primary client since incarna. gave up caring as i just cut my accounts back.

in the worst case client hit 1.3gb use with qc off just running about in space delivery stuffs

OMG when can i get a pic here

What work software are you running?

I'm honestly curious here. As a sysadmin on a campus with 40,000+ users I haven't found any 32-bit software that won't run under 64-bit Versions of Windows 7. ("Most" of the time just use 32-bit XP compatibility mode if you're having an issue.)

Then you'll get to use your work software, get all your RAM back, AND play EvE more efficiently Big smile

Thanks, great little program. 42% boost. Didn't notice any effect to Eve but I can process SETI@Home work units even faster now. Smile

did you test it on a 64 bit windows 7 machine? as was stated, there are no programs (including some drivers that I could not get a 64 bit version of) that don't work in 64 bit.

This is CCPs new development plan for EVE. The game will no longer improve but it will periodically become more and more resource intensive forcing players to invest more and more on their PC and be unable to play casually on their laptop, they hope all this investment will make it harder for players to quit.

Either that or they have retards at the helm.

Soon not only will station-environment-off docked use more system resources than in-space EVE (you know, the game we actually pay for) but it will actually use more than having it on.
