Just spent all morning scanning down a signature to find an enormous impressive looking debris field.. which when I finally get to use my relic analyser...

contains..

scrap metal and hydrogen batteries

FFS

between having my ship crushed so fast I wasn't even aware I was in a fight and spending a morning sifting for worthless junk in a rubbish tip I'm starting to think I'd have more fun begging outside Tottenham Court Road station

Don't worry, everyone sucks at first but gets better with time. Just don't expect to win eve in the first week.

You realize that if you tractor specific canisters your loot ratio will shoot way up, right?

Also, about HALF of the cans that shoot out are scrap. And they're all of a particular type.

Or maybe my ratios are off, but the point still stands. IF you only tractor in the scrap-type cans you'll only get scrap. If you target the BPC cans you have a higher chance to get BPCs.

Also the Loot Fairy might just hate you that day.

Like the time I did like 10 anomalies in a C2 and only got 2 Nanoribons Cry

Also, the good stuff requires going outside of Hi Sec.

Don't forget you can also cargo scan the hackable/analyzable cans (not the spew cans) and only hack into cans that contain items worth grabbing.

And then, knowing what types of spew cans hold those items that are worth grabbing (there are tables online that show this), only go after those cans.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

If you're new, I'd suggest finding something else to do besides exploration. Which is ironic considering Odyssey was a dumbing down of exploration so newbies could get into it quicker. But with so many doing it, the loot drops aren't worth crap in hisec especially. So while lots of pilots are doing it now (yea!), they are getting a terrible ROI. You can do lowsec data/relic sites in a T1 frigate.

http://www.youtube.com/user/JonnyPew

somewhere in his channel he has a video showing how to fit the ship and do the sites. The loot still isn't great, but its not terrible. You'll loose the ship sometimes, but it is a cheap ship.

Don't worry so much about exploding. Loosing ships is a part of Eve. We're gods and therefore immortal. Unlike getting run over by a lorry outside Tottenham Court Road Station, in Eve even if you die, you're not dead. You just go back to station and get another ship. If you need help getting going in Eve, you can join a fun corp like Brave Newbies. You'll die a lot, but they have a ton of fun doing it. If you are hard up for isk or can't afford a skillbook you can contact The Angel Project and they might be able to help.

Generally the pods you want to tractor in are going to be data and part pods. These are the type of component that has high ISK value. But I do admit that exploration is really a matter of luck and where you search.

Unfortunately Exploration is so easy and do-able by a 5 hour old player that those Data can loots are not valuable at all.

The only redemption is the ultra-rare drop from them like the 3-run BPC for Sansha POS Guns (of a sort I'm too busy to log in and look up) that netted me 150,000,000 ISK when all 3 sold after production.

But even that was the one since June till now.

I have no clue what's going on with these sites in Low and Null though.

CCP managed to turn Exploration of these kinds of sites into a great newb activity, but absolutely killed it as any kind of viable career. Not sure what drove the decision making there at all.

yeah I once came up with a rare tech 2 BPC for a capital scanning rig (unsurprisingly no-one wanted it so in the end I gave it to a corp mate) but still the stuff you get from data cans is still worth something, ok not as much as it was but you can still turn a profit from it.

Generally the best stuff now comes from relic sites. In that case go for the parts and material cans.

Experience is not an opinion. Out with thine non-constructive idiocy.

OP, I believe you would have more fun blowing up miners. You can read more at www.minerbumping.com

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Yeah, you could just be an ISK selling bot for a shady business.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

Thought this would be a topic about how EVE helps our lives to remove the stress of RL. Then i laughed at the FFS part.
