No insurance payout when killed by concord/navy/sentry gun

So i've just realized that you get insurance, even if you were the aggressor in highsec. How does that make sense?

Why not make insurance invalid if you were the aggressor and were killed by concord/navy/sentry guns? It would close down on what i believe to be a significant isk faucet, as well as make alt suicide ganking far less attractive.

Of course, people are going to jump on this post claiming that i've been the victim of a suicide gank, that however has never happened to me. I'm just really wondering why any insurance company would pay out under such circumstances, not to mention the already mentioned isk faucet that this really is. So if you don't want this to happen, bring valid arguments as to why insurance is so important in such cases. As far as i can tell, it's a nobrainer to not pay out insurance if you've been killed by concord.

Obviously, faction warfare is an exception to this, though i'm not sure whether any concord or navy even gets involved there. It makes sense that your home faction pays out the insurance, obviously :)

I thought about whether this would also fly as an argument for paying out in other cases aswell, but this only flies if the corp/alliance of the pilot pays the insurance out of their own pocket. I highly doubt any pirate factions pay out insurance to any bozo who claims to be working for them.

I haven't yet thought about whether this is a good idea in nullsec or not. There's no 'police' involved, so that factor already goes out the window. However, it *is* lawless space, an insurance company wouldn't be paying out isk if you willingly brought your ship to the most dangerous reaches of known space, as managable risk is a very important factor in determining whether or not you get paid.

It may also give much more meaning to nullsec fights. On the bottom line, i think that nullsec alliances are as rich as they are at least partially because of insurance. BC/BS and capitals are to some extent 'free' aside from the time required to build them, i don't believe that t2/t3 losses make up for this nearly enough.

On the other hand, dropping insurance in 0.0 would be detrimental to getting people to actually go there. It's possible that what's missing is a very direct way of making isk in 0.0, or that the current ways aren't really obvious enough. There only needs to be a 'link' between null/low/high sec to get people to try it out, but currently all 3 regions feel like wholly seperate entities. I guess that dropping insurance in nullsec can only happen after quite a lot of deliberation on this issue.

You don't get insurance when killed by CONCORD since a long long time ago. I'm not sure about navy/police/gateguns though.
