Danger will robinson?

So I was about to log into EVE today and a message that said something like "Warning will robinson, EVE server is not secure, continue at your own risk" and there was a yes/no option. Tried googling what that was and not much came up except it alludes to some old actor from long ago and it's a semi common phrase when someone is about to do something bad.

Not sure if I missed some kind of CCP joke or whatnot but I'm curious as to what it is.

Looks likes hes been flying a tempest and one of the rivets have blown off the wing and smacked him in the face in warp

I think the more interesting question here would be why didn't anyone else see the same pop up message?

Do you run any virus scanners / anti-spyware etc.. Was the message popped up in an eve-themed dialog box, or just a normal windows styled dialog?

It does, almost, sound like a thing eve would say in terms of humour; but I don't think the message actually came from eve.


Try and find out what software you are running may have given you the warning and why. ~(Maybe load it up and see if has logs of the alerts it has given you etc...)

It sounds like none of us actually know the answer. My guess is that it has something to do with being behind a proxy, having an invalid security certificate on something (not the eve server or everyone would have it), or some other obscure network security related issue. Was the popup inside of the client, or did it come from the launcher?
