I don't know but it annoys the hell out of me. If you like it, post in it and that bumps it and keep it alive for others to find and comment on is my rule.

Oh and a free ride back to Page 1 cos this should not die in F&I.

Lol, if people would look past the one dev post that caused a change in the OP, then we'd probably get more posts.

Well I did...and I'm sure others will and it's a fantastic thread with some real sterling effort in it. Keep it going Joe without getting it locked.

I'd love to see these changes made.

How about adding an ETA or Jumps Out to the Fleet UI or Watch List? Ideas in this thread but do NOT be put off by the title (OP was already flamed by me) Autopilot ETA.

while i disagree with the mockup for the fleetwindow of the OP, i nevertheless want to +1 this thread
the fleet window DOES need some love.

1. broadcast buttons are too small!
2. It is overall too cluttered!
3. the recent broadcast just above the broadcast buttons does not stand out enough.
4. it needs looove

Yeah, it's not intended to be a "Hey, do this" it's just a overall suggestion for some loving.

Automation at that level would compromise the EULA!

Saying that, the Align button is only required with ships of different agility and mass (skills too) a fleet of 'all level 5' drakes in identical fits only need the fleet warp button.

Automation at that level would breach the EULA if it wasn't coming from the client itself. This suggests automation built into the existing fleet UI. I do think the fleet UI needs to be improved and streamlined. I think an enhanced tactical overview with marking controls and drawing tools that the fleet can see during battle would be a better start. No control, but better fleet awareness.

There is already too much automation in fleet combat, and too much FC control and input, adding additional mechanism of circumventing individual pilot decision-making is bad. In fact fleet warps should be removed, as well as target and rep broadcasts, because they reduce significance of individual pilot's skill and focus.

Do you even rep?

Am I the only one who asks fleet members to use the 'in position' broadcast to signify when they're ready, and the watch list to keep track of who's ready or not?

I agree there needs to be a better way to keep track of it, but this solution works really nicely when the fleet knows their broadcasts well enough.

Yes.

Broadcasts are not exactly an issue in small gangs of 10 or less where everyone knows each other by name and voice.

+1 OP, more data is always useful and x'ing up is a ******** thing that should die

I know a few FCs that would consider these changes the greatest thing ever since their ******** pilots never ************ align when they're told to.

But Danika is right, these would give too much control in the hands of one player and reduce the impact that individual fleet members can have.

That is because people not hearing or seeing what the leader said. It is mostly an interface problem and in CCPs hand.

A simple solution is to make a fleet align something visual, like a large arrow in space! Then you will see people pay attention and follow the orders much more closely! A bit like they do with mission objectives in RTS games.
