Say what ain't so? The article quotes CCP as saying almost nothing.

The author had nothing concrete to report, but he had a deadline to write something, so he wrote that he couldn't confirm anything.

Guess what that means.... Nothing.

Well, CCP has said and done weird things in the past... but calling "huh, maybe, perhaps" to PC+OR for Valkyrie is plain bemusing to watch. Meanwhile they make their minds up, I'm gonna grab some popcorn; this may be the biggest WTF in CCP history... Lol

Honestly, I do not think I'd play it if it were a console exclusive title.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

It would be odd to not be for the PC. Not PC only? Perhaps but not PC? ...

They've announced that Valkyrie will utilize the Oculus Rift - OR has stated that it will be setup for the PC and mobile technologies -- consoles far down their priority list. Now if it works with mobile tech, that may be an interesting "platform" for a game but not the PC when that's where they'll build it? ...

You also have "market metrics information" to look at.

The highest crowd-source funded game in history is Star Citizens - a space fighter sim, crowd sourced to over $24 million so far and accelerating demand and acceptance as they begin to show deliverables.

The demand for a quality PC based space sim game is demonstrably there so not selling into what appears to be a "refreshed" growth market area... I don't think that would be a smart decision.

Little competition, solid background with PC based MMO success... Leveraging that for PC based sales wouldn't be difficult but console based? CCP doesn't have a solid strong background there but they do have one for PC based games.

It wouldn't necessarily be limited to the PC but not doing it would seem a bit silly and self-defeating.

It must be on PC, because the whole idea behind it is competition. Valkyrie suddenly emerged out of the blue in direct competition to SC.

Calling it right now, if it's not on PC, it's dead in the water.

Regardless of which console (yech, I said the c word) it ends up on. PS3? Outdated, no one will use it. PS4? Then to play that and DUST and EVE I need 3 separate machines, too much hassle.

PC or go home.

That may have been the original idea... but an arcade style PvP shooter with no connection to the greater universe of EVE would have and never will be any competition to the fully fledged scifie sim SC is going to be.

So, it might as well come out as a PS4 exclusive.

Wouldn't worry about the whole thing. There aren't that many platforms available that the game would fit on exclusively. The part about PC/OR doesn't worry me either: It's just so they're on the same side. If they say the game will be an "OR launch title" and they release the game on day X, everyone will expect the OR would be ready by then as well.
