Hi,

I am looking for a maximum "Passive only" tank against Blood Raiders and can't seem to
be able to improve the (live) setup below.

I know if its caught PVP its going to be a LOL kill mail but it only needs to sit inside anoms
tanking the rats and killing anything close with a war Scrambler etc. while a carrier kills the rats
with sentry's.

Any help appreciated.

A rattle can fit 3 rigs - not 2.

But your rattle is already heavy overtanked for anoms.
You should switch to a T1-Domi and leave your carrier in station.

Rattles are for difficult stuff like bloodraider-ded-complexes.

Carriers do all the Damage ..... Tattle is for Agro Tank only.

Don't forget that now the rat AI is smart enough to switch targets.

this thread hurts my soul

If you're going for LSEs go for core defense field extenders, since it'll do so you benefit from the LSEs, and with all those power relays you're already very high on the diminishing returns.

Power relays do not suffer stacking penalties. They also don't suffer diminishing returns in the way that you're implying. Your peak recharge rate scales lineraly with the ratio of total shields to recharge time. So, when it comes to rigs, purgers will always result in higher peak recharge than extender rigs (-20% to the denominator increases the ratio more than +20% in the numerator). It doesn't matter if the ship itself is fitting shield extenders in its midslots or not. The only reason (its a good reason though) to fit extenders is that they give you significantly more buffer in exchange for somewhat lower peak recharge time.

As far as passive tanks go, the only time where you suffer diminishing returns (again, not talking about stacking penalties) is deciding weather to fit an additional recharger or a LSE (or resistance mod) in a given midslot. LSE's offer a flat HP bonus, while everything else is purely percentage based. So depending on your total HP and recharge time, one may be more optimal for getting a higher HP/recharge time ratio.

Also, EFT.

if a carrier can not solo anoms you are doing it wrong!

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure 3 rechargers and 1 LSE works out to be the best split for a RS.

This a drake? Lol.

Anyways, all the cool pplz tank L5 and some anoms in bustards. Has better passive tank then a drake or even a nighthawk vs. guristas. AND has +2 warp strength.

Blood raider is what, thermal and EM? Bustard can tank thermal to ****, EM is tougher but slap 2 active EM hardeners on it and should be around 90% as well. Quick EFT check gives me 1000dps tank vs 50/50 EM/Therm on a bustard, no implants. Same as a drake, half the sig radius, so less overall dps incoming. AND you have cargo room for loot for your sentry bot!

EDIT - yep, checked EFT more carefully, better passive tank then a drake.

But seriously, move to guristas land, bustard vs. guristas is around 2200dps tank, passive. With command boosts and implants, up to 3000, thats a 10/10 DED complex-level tank. Something to think about, no?
