HIZZ I HAVE BEN TRYING TO POP PODS. they have ben so meny pods flying around high sec so i thought why not pop afew.... yea that did not work out too well.... my first ship i was like heck yea i got this well it was a lure and bam HA HA HAHA!,
OK but my next one i do not understand the pod was in range i opend up with guns i think i can get a volly before i pop ah its all good looks like it worked but the pod just warped away..... and i got GET THIS HAHAHA! a -2.00 stat.... why i did not even pop the pod...... i am usiing t1 fits

so any ideas?Big smile

You've got several things working against you:

- Pods align and warp almost instantly.
- Pods have very small signature radii, making them very hard to lock up quickly.

Even if you do succeed in getting the lock and taking the shot and getting the kill, treating random hisec pods like skeet will drop your security standing into the toilet in short order.

Are you pointing/scramming them and webbing before shooting?

You're going to lose sec status anyway, so may as well be for something that gives you an advantage, especially as people with some really juicy pods seem content to fly around in highsec without even a shuttle to give them some time to save their implants.

If you're not tackling them, then their time to warp is a huge advantage that will make you continue to fail for all but the few that panic when they get locked.

Don't over think something so simple.Roll

1) Sit at any gate in a insta-locking arty thrasher
2) Wait for auto-piloting pods (I see at least 10 an hour where I scan, just sit in a pipe between hubs)
3) Kill auto-piloting pods

Alternatively to the insta-locking thrasher, fit some tank to widen your engagement options to shuttles and noob ships (See D400)

As someone that eats pods daily, even with the insta warp its a numbers game, sit in low sec and blow up enough ships with a cruiser with sebos and you will catch a guy that doesnt warp out in time because of lag or stupidity. Or you can use a smartbombing battleship for the smart ones.
