How do squad boost skills work with multiple squads in a fleet?

In reference to the basic squad boost skills, (siege warfare, skirmish warfare, armored warfare, information warfare) that give your gang a 2% boost per level, how are the boost applied if you have say a fleet with only 1 wing, 2 squads in that wing? If you have someone who is the wing leader, then you would have 2 separate squad leaders, and then multiple people in each squad. Does the wing leader apply the squad boost to the entire fleet? Or does each squad leader apply their boost skill to their specific squad and not the other?

Any clarification on this would be much appreciated.

the wing leader gives his boosts to everyone in his wing.

the squad leaders give their boosts to the ones that are in their squad.

use the best boost from the ones above you. so a person in a squad will get the best boost from either his squad commander or from the wing commander (whichever is higher)

Small addition: the squad leader must have sufficient leadership skill for the wing leader's boost to reach the squad.

Edited to remove inaccurate information, thanks Abdiel.

E.g. if the squad leader only has Leadership 4, but a full squad, only 8 of the 10 pilots will receive boosts. The remaining two will not receive any boosts. So the wing leader's boosts get "blocked" by the inefficient squad leader.

Negative. If you don't have sufficient skills to run your squad/wing/fleet, nobody in it gets any bonuses from you or anyone higher than you in the hierarchy.

Each squad leader can only apply their boosts to their squad. Each wing commander can only apply their boosts to their wing. The fleet commander applies their boosts to the whole fleet.

For each squad member, only the highest of each bonus from their squad, wing or fleet commanders applies. The bonuses do not stack. Thus if you have squad, wing and fleet commanders equipping "Skirmish Warfare - Interdiction Manoeuvres" your fleet is effectively wasting two warfare links. The same applies for the bonuses from Skirmish Warfare, thus if you have a squad commander with Skirmish Warfare 4, a wing commander with Skirmish Warfare 3 and a Fleet Commander with Skirmish Warfare 2, the squad will receive the benefit of Skirmish Warfare 4, other squads in the same wing will receive the benefit of Skirmish Warfare 3, while squads in other wings will only receive the benefit of the fleet commander's Skirmish Warfare 3.

It is also important to note that the boosts only apply if each commander has the appropriate skills to be in their position. Thus to boost from a squad commander position, you must have "Leadership" trained high enough to support the size of squad that you are commanding. To boost from a wing commander position, you must have "Wing Command" trained high enough to support the number of squads in your wing, etc.

most often the squad leader is the one giving boosts, however he can revoke booster on himself and give it to a squad member if they have higher boosting skills. It still uses the squad leaders skills regarding number of people in squad.
