Playing EVE gave me Elbow Bursitis

You know what it is like one arm bent with your elbow on the desk, your hand supporting your chin as you endlessly drag and drop the ore. Sad

Well I awoke to find I had a very pain full left elbow joint that later in the day became swollen and very hot. What was it I hear you cry!!

Well I now have
Quote:
Elbow bursitis, also called olecranon bursitis, causes fluid to collect in a sac that lies behind the elbow, called the olecranon bursa. A bursa is a slippery, sac-like tissue that normally allows smooth movement around bony prominences, such as the point behind the elbow. When a bursa becomes inflamed, the sac fills with fluid. This can cause pain and a noticeable swelling behind the elbow.

Why did I get elbow bursitis?
Elbow bursitis may follow a traumatic accident, such as a fall onto the back of the elbow, or it may seemingly pop up out of nowhere. People who rest their elbows on hard surfaces may aggravate the condition and make the swelling more prominent.

The above has been plagerised from this web site. http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/elbow/a/olecranonbursa.htm

So should EVE come with a health warning?

Nope spent 3 hours in the hospital last night having the fluid drained from my elbow. Now on antibiotics, anti inflamatory pills and pain killers. I just used the internet to get a fuller picture for my self and by way of making my point. Smile

Hey, I had that once. Think it was actually EVE related as well.

No worries mate, it should go away in a few days with no lasting damage. Less, if you've been to the hospital; I never bothered.

Actually, thanks for the warning, I have been getting repetitive strain injury and was resting my chin on my left elbow. I shall endeavour to lean back and relax more.

(Skin on left elbow has been getting rough and inflamed sometimes) What?

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Everyone should learn to use both hand, that way if something happens to one of your hand/arm you have backup plan!

Nope, if you are "smart" enough to find on the internet what it was then you should have googled a bit more and find a lot of articles which explain as why to not stay in the same position at your computer for a prolonged period of time.
Plenty of articles which explain how to use a PC in a healthy way.

I am sure your doctor also told you that it may be wise to get up, stretch and walk around a bit once an hour or so to help prevent these kinds of things from happening?

I do feel your pain though...happened to me in high school in one of my knees. Football injury caused it...took surgery to repair the damage and prevent it from happening again.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821

Good Job dude no offence you may now close the barn door.

This one time I had a pain in my arm, I looked it up on the interwebz and it turns out I have 147 incurable tropical diseases, cancer of the ear, a missing leg and crabs.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

You can reply smug. But I don't have elbow problems by stitting like a dead totem at my PC and complain about it because I acted like a moron.

You asked if EVE should come with a warning and my reply was an answer to your question.

And since you made such a nice story around it all I did the same and gave a story to counter. It just proves that besides being blindsided in your researches on the internet you are also a sad case of player who can deal but not receive equally.

Steady Teddy, I was making a light harted post a bout a probem I have encounterd whilst playing eve. Untwist your knickers for a moment so you can see the funny side of life.

Try not to take your eve life into your real life son, Know the difference, and stop calling other road users NOOBS! Lol

Sit up straight and quit leaning on your hand.

Your mum would be disappointed in your poor posture.

Lol

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.
