Tech 2 rig blueprint invention

Hi

I've been living in nullsec for a while now and the salvage from relic sites, in addition to the datacores and decryyptors from data sites has made it pretty straightforward to invent from my tech1 rig blueprints and build T2 rigs. My problem is that in order to get a decent blueprint I use a regular rig plus the decryptors in invention; my question is that this seems a bit wasteful - would it be a better option to go with a couple of decent quality tech2 blueprints and copy them repeatedly or just keep inventing new bpc's ad the cost is probably negligable compared to the finished product?

Also can you research the ME on a t2 bpc and then copy it?

Cheers all

Copies cant be researched, there is no T2 BPOs, and copying T2 BPOs would take longer than making them in the first place.

you cannot make a copy of a copy, and you cannot research them.

so you have to keep doing inventions.

Thanks guys, I assumed since there was on option listed on the bpc to copy that I could.

EVE's industry user interface is based on maximising the number of "trap" options; over 80% of the options you can see will result in an error. Copy being available on a copy's right click menu is just one of literally dozens of these traps.

Just out of curiosity how does the copy time of T2 BPO's compare to T1. Is it 3 to 1, or as high as 10 to 1? Even Evemon does not list the times for them as they are not that common.

Are you saying I can't Reverse Engineer my Sin BPC to get a t3 BLOPs? Cry

1. EVEMon does list them. Right with all the other blueprints.
2. With my skills, an Abso takes 2d2h per single run copy, 1d11h per single manufacturing run. A prophecy takes 7h30min per single run copy, and 3h20min per single manufacturing run.

Picking a few out at random, it is around 7.5x for ships, and a lot higher for ammo.

Sample: Arbitrator 8h 26m, Pilgrim, 63h 15m

Sample: 50x Mjolnir heavy: 6m vs 1x Mjolnir Fury Heavy Missile: 21h 6m. (the T2 makes 5,000 missiles, while each batch of T1 makes 100 missiles, so in this case, 211x longer.

Now when people say " a lot longer", I have a perspective to judge it by. Thanks for the info.
