REQUEST Modification to Item Feature - BPOs

I seek a (hopefully) small change to BPOs. Addition of an Annotations Tab.

There are I suspect many groups of friends, work mates, family members and so forth working together in Player Corporations. And like most friends, family and so forth, we all tend to loan each other ships, modules,, ISK . . . and BPOs.

Apart from keeping an extensive Excel spread sheet as I do at the moment, there is no real way of tracking which BPOs I have in my possession at the moment are actually mine, my brothers, my best mates, one that I am researching for a Corp mate and so on.

I have though about it for a while and my "In Game" solution to this issue is, I would hope, very simple - Add a "Annotations" tab to BPOs.

Do a "Show Info" on any character in EVE and you will find there is a tab pane called "Notes" where you can enter information you want handy and available in game.

I would add a sub-Tab pane to BPOs under Attributes called "Annotations".

This Tab pane would be different to a "Notes" tab in that Annotations once entered would be permanently fixed for all time.

How I would achieve this: Have a Text entry box at the bottom of the Annotations window, like a chat window. When a text entry is made and enter is selected, a small pop up window showing the entry will appear allowing the Annotator to review the entry and then select Edit until he is happy, then Submit to finalise the Annotation.

Limit Annotations to a maximum of say 75 or 100 characters

On finalising an Annotation, the Annotation is Date & Time stamped, and the Annotator's name added at the start of the text. New Annotations would be added at the start (or end - user preference) of the list.

BPOs could then, over time, build up a history of their ownership and so forth developing a character all of their own as players try to be creative with the limited annotation size.

Example - The Annotations of an Apocalypse BPO may read as follows (using newest comment at top):

2013.10.18 0945 by EveTestDummy - BPO scooped from ganked wreck on Jita/New Caldari Gate before ganker's alt could scoop loot. He was pissed. A LOT!

2013.08.02 1250 by Swinging Pig - BPO Stolen from "Gentlemen of Amar" corp. on resignation.

2009.02.29 0021 by Copyright - Ideal ME = 300 (100 is ok) / PE = 32

2009.02.29 0005 by Copyright - BPO bought for Gentlemen of Amar" corp. as Corp owned BPO.

+1

I like it, wonder how many will actually use it if implemented. I definitely would. Keeping Excel spreadsheets updated is a pain!

+1 This could be useful....

A library system to loan out BPOs would make my life much easier!

I would actually go ahead and say that notes could be added to many things...Saved fittings, perhaps corp or alliance-wide notes on players or other corps?

As I said in original Post:

'Do a "Show Info" on any character in EVE and you will find there is a tab pane called "Notes" where you can enter information you want handy and available in game'.

This is on your own toon, or on any toon you do a "show Info" on, so you can already add stuff to a toon if you feel the need.

I just checked and there is no Notes pane on Corps or Alliances, but I do agree, a notes tab pane would be handy for a lot of other things in the game.

What must be remembered, you can edit and change the contents of a "Notes" tab. I want "Annotations" to be a historical archive of the BPO use and ownership.
