Sound file corrupted maybe?

So the last 3 weeks i've had the sound turned off on my game due to a VERY loud buzzing when ever EVE produces a sound, ie hover over a mod *BUZZZZ* gun firing *BUZZZZZ* it sounds really freaking loud and I've almost lost ships due to it because i never hear the warning as i lose shields or armor. sometimes after i clear the cache i have sound but its really low even with all my sliders maxed

5.2 speakers connected to the standard jacks on my Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme

Tritton AXPro connected to the S/PDIF Optical out

steps to fix:
Cleared cache, double checked up to date drivers, clean reinstall

any ideas?
