Singularity: Important to change settings!

Singularity is now back online with the new mirror and the new build, which includes multiple characters in training.

IMPORTANT: The EVE launcher will try to start the client with DX11, which will result in a completely black client. Go to the settings in the launcher (small cog-wheel in the top right corner), switch to the tab "DirectX" and select dx9. The start the client as usual.

Hello there,

we are getting a few tickets about the "black screen" on SiSi and yes the DirectX 9 does the trick Roll

Another thing that indicates a problem with the DirectX 11 is when you start the launcher, log in and hit play but nothing happens.
You can see the exefile.exe running under "processes" tab of the task manager, but the client window never opens. This is also solved by switching the DirectX to 9 through launcher.

My game starts in 3D (red-blue) is this the same problem? My launcher does not have directX option either. I also upgraded to windows 8.1 last night. Advice please.

Have Directx 11, confirmed with Benchmark program that rendered video with Directx 11. So I have to assume this is a problem with the client. Yes I get the black screen but can hear client is running with the sound in the background.

I'm having the same exact problem after 8.1. The graphic glitch came out of nowhere, too. I was playing and then it hit me out of the blue. No pun intended...

If the client does not contain the DX11 engine - or it contains something but it does not work, then why in the world are you set the launcher to use DX11 by default?
Suggestion, put the DX changer on the FRONT page of the launcher. Not somewhere in the deep of the settings page.
This would be helpful when the patch reach TQ. And meke the default to DX9 and let people to change it to DX11.

My Client was laggy as hell after installing 8.1.

Solved it with a graphics driver update to the latest beta.

Maybe it's worth a try.

If you haven't already, turn off 3d in your graphics card settings. Installing win 8.1 did the same to me.

NICE!! when i use dx9 with sisi luncher i now log in Odyssey and not rubicon.......

Update:

When trying to use DX11 setting, you have to (end process) in the task manager to close the eve.exe process. Client gets hung up.

I'm currently playing on a mac and there is no direct X tab in the launcher settings. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I'm also booting into Odyssey with DX9 selected.

AMD 5770, 13.1 drivers.

Edit: Updated to 13.9 drivers and problem persists.

They mentioned that they were doing a mirror of the main server and that it would be updated back to Rubicon later this week.

In the meantime you can set the DX version to 9 in the Launcher settings to resolve the issue. From what I am gathering, the issue is simply that Odyssey doesn't support dx11. When the server is updated back to Rubicon, the dx11 should become enabled again.
