My answer to that is Highsec is a staging ground for new players, there needs to be safety till they can learn how to play the game.

Why? EvE isn’t safe, this will just create a false impression of what the game has to offer, thus giving us a net increase in the amount of pointless threads.

Just like this one.

I think you really have forgotten what its like to be a new player? I suggest deleting all your stuff and starting from scratch, and then tell me u arent happy to be safe in highsec running missions and mining

In a way, it does. In EVE, might makes right. If I'm stronger than you, I dictate how you play. To counter that, you get stronger than me.

But it isnt.

The Noob Systems where ganking IS against the EULA are

Why should they be safe?

Again.. some people play Eve just to mine.. just to rat .. or just to stare at neat ships...

Thats eve to them.. they will not go to low sec... why do u want to deny that to them? Why cant they have fun their way?

Some people play chess to just state that the rooks and queen. Why do you have to check mate them when stting at the other end of the board?

If you want to be left alone, play solitaire, not chess.

Except its not about being left alone, people like mining in a corp, hanging out with friends.. its not solitaire..

If it's just about the mining, why don't they do it on SiSi? On tranquility, that mining is affecting other people. No you do not get to affect other people whole being left alone.

I just wanted to play the game. The game involves killing people. But the moment you engage in this aspect of the game, all the rabbits come out of the freaking walls to tell you how bad you are, how awful a person you must be, and how everyone should shame-shun you for making the choice to shoot at someone else.

Meanwhile, in lowsec, you have this group of people who, astonishingly, will actually tell you about how to fit your ship after they blow you up. They actually take the time to tell a newbie player how to better himself and improve his game.

The disparity between the two levels of discourse is what turned me. On one hand, I have well reasoned, mature players, and on the other hand I have a group reminiscent of a ring of children in a schoolyard, yelling at the ginger in the middle.

Besides, you can only be told so many times that you are an evil player, before you say "eff it!" and become one. If I'm gonna "do the time", as it were, then I might as well do the crime.

Go ahead.. kill people.. u have like 70% of the map dedicated to doing JUST that.. why do u need the last 30%?

If I want to kill people, and we've already established that I have, then why on earth would I not go to the place where the vast majority of the populace are fat, self satisfied sheep? Predators go where the prey are.

I'd ask you why you seem to think that 30% shouldn't have PvP. This isn't something where you get to have your area, and I get to have mine. That's WoW style, that's Trammel. That's bad.

Because this is a survival of the fittest sandbox game. You can do what you want, so can everyone else.

What you are really trying to do is constrain everyone else's freedom for your own benefit rather than taking to time to protect yourself. This is of course why people don't like miners.

Very, very much this.

The advocation for the removal of due diligence for your own self protection, just for miners, is a poisonous, odious concept.

Furthermore

Shouldnt new players learn how to operate a defense fleet?

Escort?

Scan for intruders?

Have awareness?

If you think that Low Null and WHs are only full of PvPers and there are no hardened veteran carebears out there...

And, we reach the unavoidable end of the unrepentant carebear argument, "EVE is dying". Disregard the steady sub growth, EVE is/will die because of (insert thing I don't like).

You are either the best troll on this forum, or so stupid you shouldn't be able to work your own lungs.

Did you actually READ any of my previous posts? The tools to avoid ganks are there, in game and not SP based. If YOU choose not to use them and struggle then that is entirely your own fault. Stop blaming the game for your own failings as a human being.

If you hadn't already noticed, this game does not retain very many new players. Most people are quite simply, not cut out for this game. It's a niche game already, diluting what people like about this game, for the potential chance of attracting new players, does nothing more than alienate your loyal playerbase.

Consider UO's example, where separating the playerbase at the behest of the carebears who couldn't be asked to properly defend themselves utterly destroyed the game...

There is no growth it is stagnant on Tranquility with as many people online as there were this time last year and serenity did a nose dive and is back to were it started.
