The other day i agreed to a 1v1 fight vargur vs vargur all was going fine and i was tanking, I'm honerable and wouldn't have killed him.. Anyways it ended up with me getting ganked..

3 other players were able to shoot me.. the killmail says i was killed on behalf off ... but the guy who it was on behalf of ive never shot ever!! or killed him or stole a can... NOTHING! theres no connection at all between me and that character..

Somehow these people got killrights on me through the kill on behalf of someone mechanic...

Anyone have any ideas, ive asked many people and they dont know how its possible either..

UPDATE:
========================
The guy who the kill was on behalf off is: Caito Sicarius

It just does'nt make sense, ive never come across that guy ever!

I have seen some bugs with the killrights, like you get a notification, but nothing seen in the killrights.....until you suddenly go flashy at hubs/gates.
If you think it was a bug - petition it. But be prepared it will take at least a few days until you get a resposne.

Looking for a group to pew with ? Have a chat with me.

It doesn't need to be a kill, merely aggressing someone in high-sec or aggressing the pod in low-sec will create a kill-right.

The kill you had in low sec would have generated a Killright against you. It is obvious he made it public meaning anybody can activate it at any time.

I have killed many people I see fighting in duels and then activating the killright on them so they can die horribly before they are able to doc. Even followed them into missions waiting for the right time activating it in the mission and killing them.

Even in your loss mail in the game. Their will be a red bar with ziirn face stating the people killed you on behalf of Ziirn.

So no it is not an exploit. You just did not understand how the KR system works. Or prolly do and this is just trolling which would be consistent with your normal forum posting behavior.

No need to defend your reply kane, cheers for the reply :) i am infact clueless on this mechanic atm. Because the guy who it was on behalf of did not have kill rights on me inititially becasue ive never done anything to him at all. Thats what i dont get.

There is a bug of some sort in the KR system where it misreports who the kill was on behalf of. I had this happen the other day. Dunno why or how it happens.

I've never seen any bug report or even talk about this, but I am confident that the Killed on Behalf of will always display the original owner of the Kill Right. Someone else may have activated it, but it will always show the owner of the kill right in the kill report.

A shipkill in low security space doesn't generate a killright.
